I really loved the AIOO's review of the first two episodes of album 68! Wyatt's last name is Perkins. Also, it's "Trey" Calhoun not "Ty". I made that mistake the first time, too. I love how they're adding the Perkins and Calhoun families into Odyssey slowly and naturally. Also, on the Official Podcast, the team said they're phasing the Parkers out. I thought maybe you'd find this interesting, but someone created a page on AIOWiki for the AIOO! - the annoying anon who keeps sending messages
Thanks, and yes, oops, I don’t know how I swapped out the names, I think I was pulling Cloak & Dagger into my head. Interesting about the Parkers, that’s surprising to hear, but I guess they’ve had a decade at this point.
I've been watching the AIOO for nearly two years now (and have loved it) and I have a genuine question. What is your personal favorite AIOO episode you guys have done?
Thanks!
Ooh, that’s a really interesting question. The interview with Katie and Will was definitely a really high point, just getting to talk to them both at once and hear them joke and bounce off each other was amazing. The Kathy interview was also incredible because she was a fan of our show and we had a great rapport and got so many great discussions out of our questions.
The first animated series episode we did was definitely one of my faves! We’ve done some other good ones but we just hit so many great jokes and unexpected moments during that video. Along that line, making the Evangelion AIO AMV that I poured a stupid amount of effort into and I still love like a child.
The Young Whit and Blackgaard book reviews have been really fun, especially just how absurdly bizarre and hyperbolic everything gets in the Young Whit series.
Most of all, I just love any time that one of us says something that takes the other by such surprise that they can’t stop laughing, and we’ll keep making jokes at each other about it everyday for the next 3 weeks after recording. As long as we can make each other laugh, that’s all that I want out of this show at the end of the day.
Victoria said the first ones that come to mind are Soaplessly Devoted (our gravity falls bit in there was stellar) and the Adaptations countdown which she did tons of research for. I’m sure she’ll reblog this and add more if she thinks of it.
I have been binging AIOO episodes during quarantine and it's been great! I was wondering if there is going to be a new episode sometime soon?
Thank you! Yes, I’ve been meaning to put a post on Facebook about it. I imagine some people are probably wondering what’s going on since most of the world has literally nothing to do right now, while we haven’t put out an episode in 2 months. Long story short, I’m still working full-time and Victoria’s still working part-time right now, and she’s also been studying like crazy for a musical pedagogy exam she has this week. I’m very much hoping to resume recording by this weekend, however. There is soooo much to catch up on!
This is completly random but I used to watch the Oddcast all the time... I kind of forgot about it. That was... years ago. It's the reason I got into the CeilingFan podcast...
years ago.... oh man we really have been doing this that long....
Thank you! Glad we could shine a little entertainment your way!
I just found your tumblr from the Adventures in Odyssey Oddcast! I am a big fan! Have you listened to album 67? if you have, any brief thoughts?
Thanks for watching! I’ve listened to the first half, but since we haven’t recorded our reviews yet (I know it’s super late but Victoria’s voice has been really bad as of late so we don’t want to exacerbate it right now), I’ve been waiting to listen to the back half so I can keep the episodes and thoughts all straight. brief thoughts on the first 3 are: Rightly Dividing: interesting, still don’t get the title. Man of the House: disappointing in execution. Page from the Playbook: excellent, lovely, awesome, so proud of my beautiful boy Buck
I loved the AIOO's latest review of the Imagination Station books! You guys are so funny and I always get super excited when there is a new podcast uploaded :D
Thank you so much, anon!!! I’m glad there’s someone out there who enjoys the IS book reviews, because I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who likes doing them. Hopefully new episodes will be out soon, thanks again for watching!
I am a ginormous fan of the Adventures in Odyssey Oddcast! Out of curiosity, when will you guys review album 67?
Thanks so much!! Victoria’s been SUPER busy with different jobs and her masters applications in the last month, so we have a few more episodes to put out before our 67 reviews, but we will get there eventually! The first episode has been recorded for like 2 months and I’ve just been sitting on it, but it’ll come out one of these days. Thanks for watching!
