It didn’t. Her blue eyes fixated on him. He was joking, right? Otherwise, he would be some kind of a robot? But he looked like human. He behaved like one, too.
“A music box ballerina? That walks and talks?” – now she laughed – “You are joking, right?” – Nunnally had finally decided to ask directly – “Such technology is still not possible…isn’t it?”
Or maybe it was. She was aware they were living in times, when there was a rapid development of high tech, and things that were unthinkable even a few years ago were now common. But Nunnally herself had little interest in that. She was brought up old-fashioned and technology made her feel uncomfortable. Most of the time. But then again, she didn't want to make him feel bad.
“You mean like do you feel hunger? And thirst?” – these were foolish questions, yet the first that came to her mind.
“But then can you feel emotions?” – or rather pretend you feel them.
