There goes my Daly could sneak a title shot theory. Randa Markos come a long way from the fighter that fought Justine Kish. Still a lot of things to work on, but she's coming along nicely as a fighter.
Aisling Daly vs. Karla Benitez
Aisling Daly (15-5) has a chance to sneak her way into a title shot/title eliminator. Stay with me.
With Claudia Gadelha out for a bit, the #1 contender spot is wide open. Of all the women scheduled to fight right now, only Daly, Lima, and Penne kind of standout (excluding the too inexperienced PVZ). Penne and Lima are scheduled to fight in late May and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Lima win that fight via grinding. Lima has already fought and lost to Joanna. And on top of all that, she’s Irish. If Joanna wants to fight in the semi-realistic future, Daly could be the only available/eligible opponent.
First though, she has to get through Canada’s Randa Markos (4-2) this Saturday (April 25th) at UFC 186.
