Won Bin in THE MAN FROM NOWHERE 아저씨 (2010)
Won Bin, Hanayong Wongtrakul - The Man From Nowhere (2010)
If Hollywood ever goes through on that American remake of “The Man from Nowhere”, this is my suggested fancast:
Plot (just as a refresher): A quiet pawnshop keeper with a violent past takes on a drug-and-organ trafficking ring in hope of saving the child who is his only friend.
Changes for the American version:
* Setting moved to New York City
* Villains changed from a South Korean mob to an Irish-American mob
* The “man from nowhere” is now a highly decorated, ex-CIA agent who retired after his pregnant wife was killed by a hitman
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Jon Bernthal as the main protagonist, the “man from nowhere” (character equivalent: Cha Tae-sik)
2) Jaidyn Triplett as the deuteragonist, the child who befriends the pawnshop keeper (character equivalent: So-mi)
3) Chris Evans as the main antagonist, a high-ranking member of an Irish-American mob that runs a drug-and-organ trafficking ring (character equivalent: Man-seok)
4) Lauren Cohan as a member of the Irish-American mob and Chris Evans’ sister (character equivalent: Jong-seok)
5) Daniel Dae Kim as the lead detective who is trying to keep track of the gangs and the man from nowhere (character equivalent: Detective Kim Chi-gon)
6) Lewis Tan as the secondary antagonist, the lead mercenary/assassin working for the Irish-American mobsters (character equivalent: Lum Ramrowan)
7) Sonequa Martin-Green as the child’s mother (character equivalent: Hyo-jeong)
