“CRISPR or Cas9 is short for clustered, regularly, interspaced…”
Akaashi quickly jots down what the professor says in his notes. Well they aren’t his notes. He looks over to his right. You are sitting with your head in your arms face down on the desk.
-
You had been complaining about your killer headache since last night. You told him that you had an important lecture the next day that you couldn't miss since the material would be on your next quiz. But you were having a challenging time focusing with your head throbbing.
Akaashi being the kind and observant boyfriend he is, took matters into his own hands and decided to follow you to class. As you were taking your normal route the next morning you assume that he is dropping you off, so you do not think much about him tagging along, not until you approach the doors of your lecture hall and both steps inside.
“Wait Keiji, what are you doing?” you ask sluggishly, feeling a dull pressure on your temples.
“Isn't it obvious? I'm gonna join your lecture.” he states matter of factly
“Uh, any particular reason?” you question, walking to your row.
“I thought it would be very informative, for me.”
“But you're a journalist major-”
“Let's take a seat.” He quickly interrupts.
You slide into your desk a bit perplexed and pull out your notebook and pens, you look to the front and can tell you will have a tough time comprehending the material, you rub the sides of your head and the professor is about to start when your notebook and pens are snatched from you. You look over to your left.
“Keiji what-”
“Don’t worry (Y/N) I'll take your notes for you.” he says.
You are about to object when he puts a finger to his mouth and shushes you with a little smirk, turning to pay attention to the professor who was now speaking.
You're gawking at him. You stay like that for a minute then smile. He is the sweetest person ever. You face forward in your desk and after a moment you put your head down and shut your eyes, faintly hearing your professor speak and Keiji furiously scribbling the material into your notes.
-
“Well, I can confidently say I did find your lecture informative, though I have a few questions about being able to edit the genes of a human being.” Akaashi says as he hands you back your notebook with 4 pages worth of lecture notes.
You giggle at his comment and look down at his notes, various doodles and pen scribbles are seen throughout and you can see it’s his same handwriting from high school. You grab his shoulder for leverage and kiss his cheek.
“Thank you for taking my notes Keiji you are the bestest boyfriend ever.” you say, already feeling your headache gradually ceasing.
“Of course (Y/N) anytime.” He smiles
“Though you may want to work on your handwriting.”
“Don't you start.”
Author Note: hellooo this is my first time writing a work on tumblr!! I've just been sort of a lurker since 2019 but decided I would try my hand at writing a little blurb. This is incredibly self indulgent as a bio student myself but thought this was cute. I hope the tenses makes sense while reading it. You start off in the present and the rest is what happened in the past and then you're in the present again! I might start posting more often because this was fun to write :)))
You sat, cross-legged, on the carpet in front of the low table. The wood felt cold and smooth against your cheek as you rested your head against its glossy surface.
It was cold outside. The clouds quickly grew grey and heavy, and soon it began to rain, hard enough that the trees shook, and the wind started to howl.
“Hey, Akashi?”
The red-haired captain looked up from where he was seated, across from your slumped figure, pen in hand. Many pieces of lined paper, neatly marked with black ink, were stacked in front of him.
“Yes?” He asked, his voice slightly hoarse.
A wave of sadness rippled through you when you heard how tired he sounded. The thought of how much pressure he was under, from schoolwork, his teachers, the basketball team, and his father, was mind-numbing.
“It’s getting late. You should come to bed.”
There was a moment of silence in the vast room. Raindrops hurtled themselves at the roof, splattering on the shingles and leaving a trail of moisture in their wake.
Akashi sighed. You could almost feel his indecision wavering between choosing to stay up for a few more hours and retiring to bed earlier than usual. Minutes passed, and you began to hear the pen once again scratching dutifully away at the paper.
Feeling another rush of melancholy, you inhaled the scent of the fresh wood of the table and closed your eyes.
The whisper escaping from your lips was so quiet that it was almost inaudible.
“Please.”
At this, the movement of the pen quickly tapered off, until eventually, the only sounds in the room were that of the bullet-like rain and of yours and Akashi’s breathing. You kept your eyes closed, wondering when he would finally stop to rest.
Moments later, you felt someone move near you, their breath warm and reassuring. Akashi leaned down to where you were slumped over the table and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head.
His voice was soft, almost relieved, when he finally spoke.

'Such a long time ago since he changed into his other self.’
~Change~ (F/n) stared at Akashi's hand as he wrote extra notes in his note books. 'Oh god look it him. He writes so fast and his hand is so flawless and white and AGHHHHH! I wanna hold it!' His hands slid over the pages, smoothly using his pen. He didn't even need to use white out or anything. He turned the page and started writing more there as well. 'How is it even humanly possible to-'
Akashi turned to the side to see (f/n) staring and gave her a handsome smile. (F/n)'s (s/c) face burst into shades of red and pink and she quickly turned her head to the other side. Budump

Akashi chuckled at her antics as he shut his notebook. (F/n) gripped her mini skirt in embarrassment and tried her best to not look him. 'Heart I know you're pumping blood through my body, but could you be any quieter!' (F/n) clenched her eyes shut. ' Why do I feel like my heart goes 50 miles an hour when I see him smile?!' She then felt hot breath tickle her ear.
"You're so cute when you blush like that. You know that right?" he whispered huskily. (F/n)'s usually (s/c) face turned so red it could put a tomato to shame. (F/n) tried to say something but they all turned into inaudible or jumbled words. Akashi chuckled into his fist again at her embarrassed side.
"D-don't laugh!" the (h/c) haired girl stuttered.
Akashi eyed her and gave her a smile that made her heart rate speed up again. "Sorry. You're just so adorable sometimes. I can't help it," Akashi said in a truthful voice.

"Come along (f/n)-chan. Pack up your stuff. The bells about to ring," Akashi spoke as he squeezed her shoulder to calm her nerves. Its seemed to help. She started packing up and just as she finished the bell rang. 'How did he do that?!'
The transfer student got up with Akashi as they walked to the gym to start practice. They walked in silence and Akashi's gaze stayed ahead. She watched his hand sway he walked. It was so tempting. 'What if I...' She reached out for it and instantly brought her hand back. 'But what if he doesn't want to?!'
"Come on you can do this!" she whispered to herself.
Akashi turned to her, "Did you say something?"
"U-uh no! I didn't say anything!" the girl replied nervously.
"Alright then."'That hand.
That beautiful white hand.
Why do you give me so many nerves?!'
(F/n) felt so teased, watching it as moved. 'It just looked so strong and- I'll try one more time!' She reached out once again to grab it but felt nervous again. She wanted to move her own away but then something caught her hand. She looked down and saw a smooth hand on her own. 'EH?!'
"Don't be nervous. Feel free to hold my hand if you want," Akashi said in a reassuring voice as he rubbed his thumb over her knuckles.
(F/n) seemed to calm down a bit and spoke softly, "O-okay... I won't hold back next time."
"Thats my girl," Akashi replied as he brought up her knuckles to his lips, giving them a soft peck. Pink splashed on her face again and Akashi smiled at her reaction.
They stayed hand in hand as they walked. Sometimes they swayed their arms and it caused (f/n) to giggle. It sounded so similar yet not similar to his mothers laugh. It gave him joy to see her as happy as she is at the moment. He finally felt there was someone he could trust. Someone he didn't have to give fake smiles. Only true ones came (F/n)'s way. It made him feel at peace.
But that was before they were done with practice..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(F/n) put away the basketballs she was holding in the bin. She sighed and went to get more to polish until she heard the copy cat speak.
“Honestly what’s with them, letting Aomine-cchi play in games regardless of him coming to practices,” Kise stated as he pouted like a child.
“I do not know the head coach’s true intent, but I cannot agree with it,” Akashi uttered.
“I don’t think it’s right either. He might be talented but he should still practice with his team,” (f/n) said polishing a ball.
“About that,” the giant said lazily, “If it’s okay to not practice as long as we win the games, I don’t want to come to practice either.” (F/n)’s fists tightened around the ball she was holding.
“Don’t be stupid. I can’t possibly allow that,” Akashi said as he stalked up to the purple haired high schooler.
“I mean, I don’t feel like I’m going to lose at all,” Murasakibara said as he lazily looked down on his captain, physically and mentally. “Besides I at least listened to you til now, Aka-chin cause I felt like I would never be able to win against you. But lately, it feels like maybe that’s no longer the case. I don’t want to follow directions from people who are weaker than me. ”
Akashi scoffed at him, “What was that?”
All of the members of the team gaped at the two. (F/n) put her basketball away and went between the boys.
“Mura-kun that’s something you should joke about! Don’t say that to your captain,” (f/n) said as looked into the boys purple eyes.
“Stand aside (please),” Akashi said he lightly pushed her away. (F/n) thought she heard a please at the end but she wasn’t sure. She looked at the two boys as Akashi went a step closer. It honestly scared her, “If I have to pin you down by force that is what I will do. Don’t be conceited,” he said as he easily bounced a ball into his hand. “One-on-one. Five scores to win.”
There they went and started the match. Everyone watched in awe. But it wasn’t because it was even. It was because…..
Akashi was getting demolished.
Akashi reached for the basket doing a graceful shot, only to be blocked by Murasakibara. Everybody’s eyes popped out of their heads.
“Wha-
“Impossible,” Momoi muttered.
“Akashi-san…” (f/n) murmured.
“To think it would be this one sided,” Kise said looking at his white board that read:
Akashi, 0 Murisakibara, 4
Akashi panted holding his knees while the purple haired titan spoke. “Honestly this is a bit…. No quite… disappointing. Its impossible to listen to someone who can only go so far.” He bounced the ball back to his side, “Oh well. I make this shot and I’ll do whatever I want as promised, anyways.” The giant bounced the ball in place and it seemed like something was going to happen, but (f/n) didn’t know what. Some aura was radiating off of Akashi. It was nothing like she had ever seen.
“Something isn’t right,” (f/n) muttered to herself and took Momoi’s hand. She gladly grasped it because she could feel the tension as well. Momoi would always grab her own as well when she felt uneasy.
The snack lover was about to pass but then Akashi uttered these strange words, “Because I am victorious over all, I am always the just.” His eyes shined and easily took the ball out of his challenger’s hand. He left everyone in the building in awe once again. The ball bounced out and everything turned so silent.
“Hold it…. What happened just now?” Kise voiced out in utter confusion.
“I have no idea, in fact…” Midorima trailed off.
“Akashi-san..? What just happened…?” (f/n) whispered to herself.
The said red head went to get the ball. “You are getting a bit too carried away Atsushi. Don’t get me too angry. Anyone who acts against me is never forgiven…...Even if they are my parents.” 'A-akashi?'
Akashi dominated the entire rest of the game. No one knew what happened to him but everyone could tell it was bad.
After the game was done the childish middle schooler kicked the water bottle stand. “Well I’m done for the day. Good work, “he uttered with a sluggish wave.
Momoi quickly let go of my hand and ran up to them saying, “Wait, Mukkun!”
He just kept walking, “I’m tellin ya, its fine if I show up to practice like usual tomorrow, right?”
(F/n) sighed of relief.
“No Im calling that off. Do as you like. As long as we win our games.” (F/n)’s relieved smile dropped.
Murasakibara turned his head back slightly and showed a menacing face to Akashi. “Hah?”
“Akashi-san what do you mean?!” (f/n) asked with an apparent scowl on her face.
“In fact what are you talking about? You just said-”
“Same goes for both Midorima and Kise. All actions will be glossed over as long as we win our games.” Akashi interrupted. The two gasped and the (h/c) haired girl’s eyes widened. “At our level, it is more of a waste of time to force everyone to get in step. It is more efficient to stop adjusting.” 'B-but, doesn't that mean no more friendship or supporting each other?!'
“Impossible.. it sounds like you don’t want to have team play anymore…” A brunette senpai stated.
“That’s correct,” the heterochromatic eyed captain stated and that was far enough for (f/n). 'This isn't him. He would never...' She started walking straight for the door. “For the generation of miracles, team play is nothing but….” (f/n) slammed the door “….a hindrance.”
(F/n) never watched Teiko play basketball for that exact reason.~Change~ @basketbaes-imagines WEEEEEEE
(f/n) = first name(l/n) = last name(l/l)= leg length Ex: short, long, skinny, pudgy, etc.(h/l)= hair length(h/c)= hair color(e/c)= eye color(s/c) = skin color
‘Yet it wasn’t that long ago that he started playing like a team again.’
~Change~
Momoi and (F/n) parted ways after graduation. They still called each other often but don’t see each other much anymore. The two made up their minds and that was to protect the people they cared about. They cried when they left but now they were in high school. Momoi was at Too and (f/n) was at Rakuzan.
The foreigner got in for her grades, not her wealth. In Teiko she ranked 2nd right after Akashi on exams. She was proud of her accomplishments but that didn’t mean she would stop. She keeps studying like her life depends on it. She wants to do something amazing once she grows up and that requires a lot of work. It was inspired from Kuroko. He played something with all his heart even though he was bad at it. He even shoved through the rules and created his own special style. Passing.
So that's what (f/n) was going to do! Something important no matter how many struggles she had to overcome! Even if it was the terrible Japanese language. She would try her very best until the end. But it still also got her mind off of the Akashi’s change.
Although, (F/n) knew he would change back.
He would. She always believed it after what happened back when she was a second year in middle school. However, she’s started to accept this side of Akashi as well.
“You order me to what?” (f/n) asked as she blinked in confusion.
Akashi let out a sigh. “I know you don’t get your grades by cheating off of other people. You have great analytical skills so I order you to be the manager for our team,” the first year remarked.
“But! Ano…. Akashi Im not sure! I won’t do well. I know it,” (f/n) replied with eyes lowered to the ground.
“Akashi-san. And, don’t lie to yourself. The girlfriend of an absolute man should be proud for who she is,” Akashi proclaimed as he looked into her (e/c) orbs with his own heterochromatic eyes.
“But-
“No. I’ve seen you help Momoi-chan countless times when she was having trouble. You won’t disobey me will you (l/n)?” Akashi asked with a slight intimidating aura.
“No I won’t. Your judgment is best. And if you think it will be good if I’m the manager, I will be one,” (f/n) smiled.
“Good, now I’ll see you after school.” Akashi took her hand and gave it a squeeze. He strode away to his next class.
The bell rang. ‘How does he do that?! Ugh so much for eating all of my lunch.’ The first year walked off to her next class.
Once her last class was over she went over to the school’s gym where they practiced basketball. She heard the sounds of squeaks and slides in the room and she popped her head in. She saw a bunch of boys practicing and Akashi eyeing them like he did in middle school. ‘This brings back some memories.’
“Kotaro pass the ball to Reo whenever you feel like you are trapped and can’t make the dunk,” Akashi ordered, while the blond he was talking to got angry, because he lost the ball. (F/n) smiled a bit. ‘Team play. Its back. I’m so relieved.’ Kotaro rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, but his eyes then turned to the door.
“Oh look a pretty girl is here! Hi!” he waved childishly at the first year as she hid. ‘I’m not ready to go in yet!’
“Oh who’s this,” a kind and almost feminine voice asked. She turned around to see another basketball player. He had black hair that was almost like Murasakibara’s when he was in middle school. He also had quite feminine features,
“I’m (l/n) (f/n). I’m the new manager this year. Nice to meet you,” the nervous girl said as she bowed.
“Nice to meet you (l/n)-chan. I’m Mibuchi Reo,” he introduced as he bowed himself, “Come along (l/n)-chan. I’ll show you to everyone,” he gave her a light push and led her inside.
“Thank you M-mibuchi–san,” (f/n) stuttered out in embarrassment. She heard loud and fast footsteps come closer to the two. Instantly she saw the same blonde with a snaggletooth in front of her. She jumped back in panic at the sudden appearance.
“Woah you’re one cute first year. I’m your senpai! Hayama Kotaro. Nice to meet ya!” he said with a bright smile.
Reo put a hand on her shoulder in reassurance. “H-hi I’m (l/n) (f/n), Nice to meet you Hayama-kun,” she introduced as politely as could.
“Hah? What’s with the –kun. Im your senpai aren’t I? Show more respect,” his whole demeanor seemed to change. Akashi was about to walk over to give him a piece of him mind, but (f/n) swayed his judgment.
“Oh I’m so sorry!” (f/n) bowed several times, “I’m not very good at Japanese! Please forgive me Hayama-senpai!”
His face broke into a smile and then declared, “Well if you put it like that I can’t be angry at someone as cute as you!” He patted her head slightly and she let out a sigh of relief.
“Oy who’s this?” an extremely buff and bearded guy walked up as well.
“U-uh hello! I’m (l/n) (f/n),” she stuttered. ‘He’s huge…’
“Ah hi. I’m Nebuya Eikichi,” he declared as he let out a long burp.
“Woah that was looong…. How’d you do that?” (f/n) asked slightly taken back.
“That was one of my small ones. You haven’t seen anything yet!” he said as patted his stomach. “Wanna hear a longer-
“No. I think that’s quite enough,” Reo says with his arm out in front of Nebuya. (F/n) glanced away seeing someone who reminded her of Kuroko playing on the court. He payed little to no attention to what was happening.
“So (f/n)-chan! What brings you here? Did you come to see me play?” the blonde 2nd year asked with a thumbs up and sparkles around him.
“O-oh um… I was told to be here by my boyfriend Akashi-chan,” the (h/c) haired manager stuttered out. All their faces were completely shocked. Akashi’s face was priceless as well. ‘Oh no did I?!?!’ “I-I-I mean Akashi-san! Oh gosh this is embarrassing.”
Kotaro and Nebuya laughed their heads off. Even Mibuchi let out a slight chuckle.
“You really aren’t that good at Japanese! Ahahaha! My stomach hurts!” Kotaro laughed while holding his stomach.
Meanwhile the one warming up rolled his eyes. Laughter filled the entire gym.
A second after a dark red aura seemed to cover the area.
“All of you. Go warm up or I will triple your training menu,” Akashi ordered with an angry face. They all ran to the court so they didn’t have to face the wrath of the red haired emperor.
“(L/n)….” Akashi droned with his eyes flashing.
“Oh no..”
‘It was a great feeling of Déjà vu.’
(f/n) = first name(l/n) = last name(l/l)= leg length Ex: short, long, skinny, pudgy, etc.(h/l)= hair length(h/c)= hair color(e/c)= eye color(s/c) = skin color
'Only yesterday when people said he wouldn’t change.’
~Change~
(F/n) walked into her class rubbing her arm. It was covered in bruises. Each one was from when she disobeyed Akashi. He would roughly grab her and wouldn’t be kind at all. However this is what the 1
st
year signed up for when she agreed to never leave his side.
She took her seat and started to get her writing utensils out and ready for class. She heard several murmurs and eyes directed at her. She didn’t enjoy the feeling but, she tried her best to ignore them and focus on her task at hand.
(F/n) heard some footsteps and saw one of her female class mates. She learned she was quite nice but she didn’t talk to her much. Her name was Shibue, Mai if she recalled.
“(L/n)-chan are you alright? There are bruises all over your arms and legs. Would you like me to escort you to the infirmary?” the short girl asked politely.
“Oh no it’s completely fine. I'm okay going to class. Thanks for asking though,” (f/n) coaxed.
“Okay then…” the girl replied and scampered back to her seat.
“I BET SHE GOT SMASHED BY HER BOYFRIEND AKASHI!” a random trouble maker yelled out. The room erupted in laughter. (F/n) put her head down her desk in humiliation. ‘This was is what I trying to prevent!’
“I wanna get pounded!”
“Yeah, but I wouldn’t let my boyfriend hurt me that badly.”
“He’s probably abusive.”
“Yeah and she says he wasn’t like this in middle school. She’s waiting for him to change back.”
“She should know that people don’t change back that easily.”
“Yeah you’re right.”
“People don’t change.”
Her mind then flashed back to what her family has been telling her.
“He won’t change sweetie. People aren’t always who they used to be.”
“Honey find a new boyfriend. He treats you like trash. Not a person.” ‘No that’s a lie!’
She seemed to go into her own world.
(F/n) was there and a copy of herself stood there as well. It was like a shadow. Something she manifested from her own depression.
“People don’t change my dear and the same goes for Akashi Seijuro,” the copy of her said. It seemed to echo in ears.
Not leaving.
Corrupting her mind.
Forcing her to think that way.
“Stay out of my brain! I won’t believe you!” she yelled covering her ears. (F/n) tried to muffle out the sound but to no avail. ‘This isn’t real! They aren’t telling the truth!’
The copy walked over to her. “How dumb are you? He’s slapped you, grabbed you harshly and thrown you against walls. Or do you not remember?”
“I remember! But he’s confused and hurt!” she screamed. ‘He’s torn and misunderstood! I know that! But stop it! Just stop!’
“Maybe I should remind you of what he’s done to you. That might bring you back to your senses.”
A picture of him appeared as he roughly grabbing (f/n) away from her male friends.
“What are you doing?! Stop!”
“People CAN'T change.” ‘Yes they can!’
Another came up with him smashing (f/n) into a wall, kissing her roughly. He held scissors in his right hand.
“He won’t change!”
“He will!” ‘Don’t believe her!’
Last a picture of him slapping (f/n) after she talked to Midorima before the Shutoku vs Rakuzan game.
“AKASHI SEIJURO WONT CHANGE FOR YOU!”
“STOP!!!!!!!!!”
That snapped her back to reality and everyone in the classroom went silent. ‘Oh god did I yell that out loud?!’
Lucky for her the teacher walked in. She didn’t seem to hear her and started class.
The rest of the day seemed like a living hell for her. ~Change~
“No use thinking about that now,” she sighed and zipped up her jacket. 'Time to go see Seirin Vs. Rakuzan' She started heading inside but then she bumped into someone. Light blue eyes blinked at her own (e/c) ones.
“Ack! Huh? Tetsuya-kun? Hi!” she faked a smile at her old friend. ‘Tetsuya I wish I could smile for real. I just feel horrible right now.’
“Hello (f/n)-san,” he tilted his head, “Why are you fake smiling. Is something wrong?” A chill went up her spine. ‘I forgot how observant this boy was!’
“Oh I’m completely fine hehe…” (f/n) replied rubbing the back of her neck.
“Don’t lie.”
“Huh!?!”
“I know you are lying (f/n)-san,” Kuroko said looking at the Rakuzan’s manger seriously.
“You’re right….” (f/n) said defeated.
“Come. Let’s go sit,”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Oh I see…” Kuroko commented in understanding.
“I’ve just only been hearing that he won’t change back. But I believe that he will, but it’s so hard when your heart is being pounded with a hammer,” (f/n) sniffled as she put her hands over her eyes. She started crying. Something she hadn’t done since middle school. Something about Kuroko made her barriers drop and just tell him her troubles.
“Well I think it’s smart to think that,” Kuroko said petting her hair kindly. “People who haven’t known Akashi have been saying he won’t change. Am I that correct?” (F/n) nodded slightly.
“Well who knows him better than you (f/n)-san? You’re his girlfriend and you know he loves you. I think you’re the only person to know if he’ll change back or not.”
(F/n) took her hands off her eyes and looked at him surprised. He gave her a small smile. It somehow made her feel a bit better. “Either way I’m going to show Akashi-kun my feelings for basketball when we play. I’ll do my part with trying to help.” (F/n)’s competitive side rose out.
“Don’t think you are going to win! We’ll defeat you! I have many notes about you guys! My analytical skills can rival Satsu-chan now!” (f/n) said with a confident smile.
“We’ll see once we start playing. Don’t look down on our strength, Good luck (f/n)-san,” he said with a determined look in his eye.
“Thank you Tetsuya-kun. To you as well,” (f/n) replied happily. With that the two parted ways to their teams.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(F/n) watched every player from the bench from the point the game started to where it is now. Every little detail she noted. Making sure everything went according to plan. She watched as Kuroko came back in again and Reo almost hit him, but he noticed him before it happened. The crowd rooting for him. ‘Going just according to plan.’
He got his presence back. Misdirection will no longer work. ‘Step one has been achieved.’
‘Sorry Tetsuya.’ (F/n) watched Kuroko go back to the bench sadly, but he was bought back in almost immediately.
“What are they planning?” (f/n) mumbled to herself. 'Nothing to worry about. He cant do anything anyway.'
The game went on smoothly and Seirin landed in all of the traps she laid for them. Everything was going great until they just let Mayuzumi keep shooting. He just kept shooting and shooting. 'At this rate he will lose- Oh crap! They are making people aware of him!'
“Mayuzumi-senpai don’t!” the manager protested but he still shot anyway. ‘Why doesn’t he listen to me!?’
‘Now Kuroko is using his misdirection! Damn it! I didn’t account on this!’
“Coach!”
“I’m aware.”
“White team time out!”
(F/n) gave them all their water bottles and towels as they took their break.
“Dammit…. Thanks to a certain someone, Seirin has come back to life,” Nebuya stated as he threw his water bottle to the ground.
“Knowing the opponents trap but still falling for it can only be called foolish,” Reo added and (f/n) clenched her teeth. ‘There was nothing I can say. He’s correct.’
Kotaro wiped his face with the towel. “If his lack of presence is gone cause of overwriting, he can’t pass anymore. Time to sub out right?” he asked (f/n).
“It would be best, but there’s something he can do. Its just…” (f/n) held her clip board close to her chest.
Akashi explained it for her saying that he could use the misdirection overflow he could stay in the game, but that was all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rakuzan started making so much more mistakes. Serin was catching up. ‘One last option. I don’t approve of it but that’s all we can do.’
Akashi went into the zone and started to dominate the entire game. (F/n) hated letting him do it all on his own. She despised watching basketball without team play. It pissed her off. But this was the only way to win.
Akashi blocked basically everything.
Got past everyone.
He was almost invincible.
But that’s when it happened. Kuroko developed his own emperor’s eye and predicted where Kagami would go as he went the opposite way. He blocked Akashi when he charged and passed the ball. ‘So cool!’
(F/n) inwardly blushed for thinking that. She started to remember why she admired him in middle school. It was weird how many feelings were coming back to her on this single day. All those flash backs.....
They ran forward while Akashi stayed in place. He didn’t do anything as they ran.
It broke her heart slightly.
‘Why wasn’t he going?! He needs to catch up or they’ll get closer!’
They got past Kotaro. ‘That’s. It.’
“GO SEIJURO YOU IDIOT!!!” (f/n) screamed as loud she could.
"(F/n)-chan," Momoi spoke in concern as she looked at her. A lot of spectators’ attention drifted to the (h/c) haired manager too. (F/n) didn’t care. She wanted Akashi to move. He had to!
The call seemed to get through to him as he clenched his teeth tightly and ran so fast it almost seemed like the speed of light. Akashi tried to stop Kagami but he just passed to Kuroko. Kuroko then threw the ball up in an alley-oop. Kagami went to dunk the ball and Akashi jumped up too, while he tried to stop him. He wasn't able to and Kagami dunked the ball.
From there on out Akashi started making sluggish moves that (f/n) knew couldn’t be his. ‘Akashi… I know you’re stronger than this…’
“Quit fooling! What’s with that pass a grade schooler could pick off! You really think that’s fly at this point?! That’s enough out of you dammit, Akashi!” Nebuya yelled as he held Akashi up by his jersey.
“White team time out!”
Everyone from the team angrily walked to the bench while (f/n) stared worriedly at the broken player.
“Its time for substitution Aka-
“Please hold on a minute,” Mayuzumi interrupted.
“What a disgrace.” Everyone’s eyes widened. “Do you think we’d comfort you or cheer you up? We’d never do something like that. You made all these pompous statements but this is all you got? I can’t believe that. You’re nothing like the guy I met on the school roof. More like… Who the hell are you?” Mayuzumi questioned with an irritated face.
There was a long moment of silence.
He stood up and I noticed something was different. His aura seemed to change. Into something…. Quite familiar. ‘What’s going on?’
“Who you ask? How outrageous.”
“You’re…” Mayuzumi’s own eyes widened.
“I’m Akashi Seijuro of course,” he replied with a smile. His eyes… Were the beautiful crimson (f/n) remembered. ‘It can’t be?! He’s b-back!?’
“Seijuro-
“Don’t worry (f/n),” he smiled as he used her personal name for the first time since middle school. "We’ll talk later after the game. I can promise you that. Now i would request that you would bring me back in the game,” he says as he looks at the coach.
"Send you out?! Akashi.... you were in pieces just now!" Nebuya protested. "You better be alright!"
"Yeah I showed myself in such a poor form. About that, I really do feel bad about it," Akashi spoke truthfully as he bowed in apology, "Im sorry."
Everyone stared at the boy in awe as (f/n) smiled knowingly. "I want you guys to lend me a hand one more time... to win against Seirin." They nodded in agreement as they walked back onto the court.
"Do your best!" (f/n) yelled with a smile, as tears unknowingly filled up in her eyes.
The game turned once again. There were so many twist and turns. From everyone going in the zone to listening as everyone cheered for Seirin to not give up. (F/n) still yelled as loud as she could for Rakuzan though. She wouldn't give up on her boys.
There were cheers all over for both teams and everything seemed to turn intense. Most people couldn't keep track of what was happening.
It was an amazing and emotional game but in the end….
Seirin 106, Rakuzan 105
We lost….
At our final match
But in a way.
It was bitter sweet…
“It’s your…. No, It’s your teams win. Congratulations,” Akashi declared as tears filled in his eyes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the game everyone had left. Mayuzumi told (f/n) that he wouldn’t be coming back. (F/n) asked why but he just didn’t answer her like he always did. He gave her a brief wave and walked off. Rakuzan’s manager stared at him as he left, but refused to do anything. It was his choice of course. She wouldn’t be able to sway his mind anyway.
'Good bye senpai.'
(F/n) looked back at the locker room door contemplating if she should go in. Eventually she decided to do just that.
“I’m coming in,” (f/n) announced. She saw a figure with a towel on his head sitting on the bench. She squinted her eyes and saw that it was the crimson haired captain.
“Oh (f/n). Hello,” the crimson eyed boy greeted with his back turned.
“Hi Akas-
“Seijuro. Call me Seijuro,” he requested.
“Oh….” (f/n) was surprised. All this time she’s been told to call him Akashi-san. 'Why would he change his mind?'
“I would rather you not call me by my family’s name. I want you to say my name personally like you spoke during the game,” he answered like he was reading her mind. ‘How does he do that?! God is he psychic!?’ Honestly though, he was just speaking from his heart. He wanted to be acknowledged as the person he is not his name he shared with his father.
“Uh is Sei-kun okay?” she asked nervously. (F/n) has wanted to call him that since she met him.
“Yes.”
There was moment of silence.
“Sei-kun… c-can I see your face?” (f/n) asked wanting to check if he was okay. He just lost for the first time in his life. It was probably a horrible feeling.
“N-no...” he stuttered out.
“But why?”
“I can’t let you see the face of the person who’s just been hurting you and causing you pain,” his voice shook as she heard drops of water fall on the floor. “All I’ve done is cause you suffering when you’ve given me only your kindness.” (F/n) heart felt like it was stabbed with a knife.
(F/n) speed walked over to him and tilted his head up. She softly put her lips on him and let them linger for about 30 seconds.
“It’s okay. You were confused. You were stressed and your mind was going crazy. It all happened from the loss of your mother and the stress from your father. But I’m here and I’m not going to leave your side,” (f/n) truthfully remarked. “I won’t,” she declared softly as tears drizzled down her cheeks. Akashi’s eyes widened and his mouth gaped slightly. He then put his true smile back on his face. Another part of him that she fell in love with.
“Let me start to make it up to you,” he said after he wiped the tears coming from (f/n)’s sparkling (e/c) eyes. Akashi got up and took her bruised, (s/c) arm as gently as petting a wounded kitten. He peppered kisses over every bruise starting with that arm. He left tingles everywhere he touched.
And he did it all over.
Everywhere he left a scar.
“Wh-what are you doing?” (f/n) stuttered.
“Showing that all I will give you now is love. I will protect you the way protected me, my sweet empress,” Akashi declared. (F/n) then realized the tingles she felt was love. Love that was trying to make up for the pain she felt for the past years.
“O-okay….”Budump
Silence, her heart beat and just the feeling of soft kisses was the only thing (f/n) felt. Her orbs felt glossy once again and she felt more tears stream to down her face. She sniffled and hugged her loving emperor.
“I-I missed you,” she sniffled as she felt an arm around her waist and another on her head that pushed her into his chest.
“I’ve missed you more than any person in this world,” he spoke as she kept crying of happiness and relief, ”It’s okay to cry. Don’t worry. I will always be by your side (f/n), just like you were for me,” he soothed as he petted (F/n)'s hair and hugged her tighter to his chest.
They stayed like that for a little while until she broke the hug and Akashi looked at her with a confused face. (F/n) put her (s/c) hands on his cheeks and leaned in for another kiss. Akashi instantly responded. This one was different from the other kiss though. That one was kind and a forgiving kiss while this one was longing and passionate. They closed their eyes and lost themselves inside their desire for each other.
It really filled the two up with joy. They've been separated for far to long and they finally felt like they were a back together. The two couldn't have been more happy.
(F/n) hands left his soft cheeks and ended up tangling in his messy red locks. She started playing with the strands of his hair and found out that it was quite soft. Meanwhile the basketball player put his hands on the girls sides. Moving up and down. Softly touching (f/n)'s clothed body.
Soon the new emperor got a bit bored with just the lip lock and he slowly licked her lip as if to say. 'Let me in. Please let me in my beautiful empress.' (F/n) wasn't sure what Akashi was trying to do so she just kept kissing. Every time she made out the old Akashi he would force his tongue into her mouth so she wasn't used to this treatment.
Akashi grew a bit annoyed because he thought she was trying to tease him. He wanted to strike some revenge so he squeezed her sides with his hands. (F/n) let out a giggle and causing her to open her mouth. The sly boy took this to his advantage and put in his tongue letting his exploration begin. He swirled his tongue around and it mingled with (f/n)'s or sometimes fought with it. Easily the boy's tongue took dominance and explored everywhere. The roof of the mouth, the sides, and the bottom. It felt like a new adventure.
It didn't last too long as the two fell on the floor making them lose their breath. Akashi ended up on top sloppily over his empress. (F/n) opened her (e/c) orbs and she gazed into his crimson ones. Completely lost in their scarlet beauty. He gave her a handsome smile that made her heart melt and start to beat quickly again.
While (f/n) was distracted he unexpectedly stole another peck from her lips. She squeaked and blushed at the unexpected affection.
"Too cute~" Akashi cooed making her cheeks turn even hotter.
"W-well you're too sweet," (f/n) responded as she made the kind emperors face redden.
There was a bit of silence after that comment. But it felt... comforting. It lasted for a little while until the manager decided to break it.
"I love you, Seijuro," (f/n) said with all her heart,
“I love you more than anyone alive, (f/n),” the boy replied with the same amount of passion.
People can’t change? That’s a load of shit.
