25 & 26 achilles ^^
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
Achilles was my first Greek Myth hero, when I was - I don't know - maybe about seven. At that time I thought he was FANTASTIC - invulnerable (almost), handsome, brave, heroic - a real Marvel superhero type, which is basically how he was portrayed in whatever Big Book of Greek Myths for Confused Kids it was I had at that time. I loved Achilles so much that I decided that I was going to write a long poem about him and his exploits, which I started to do, and that - funnily enough - is how I discovered that Homer had beaten me to it, and what the Iliad was.
Nowadays, I have somewhat more nuanced feelings about him. Let's face it, the guy was an arsehole, but all of his arsehole qualities were basically what made him FANTASTIC handsome brave and heroic by the standards of his time. Which are the standards by which he should be judged. Even if he was an arsehole.
26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever?
In a word, Troilus.
