god i love watching letsplays of indie horror games made by russian devs that are set in your usual post-soviet apartment. for many reasons, of course, but also for the fact that if you watch it with a russian letsplayer, they're gonna be like, "ah this looks just like my/my parents'/my grandparents' apartment, oh look at this kitchen, look at this entrance area, this is so nice, oh it's just like the tv we had, just like the toys we had" and so on and so on. and then you watch the same game with a foreign youtuber and they're like "this is terrible, this is so scary, i don't like this place, it's freaky, there is something off about it, something haunting". like bro, you're literally in baba valya's kitchen
