Holy Qur'an (7:156) 🕯
In ‘Islām, الودود (al-Wadud) is one of the 99 names of God. It means the Most Loving. It was mentioned twice in the Qur’ān, first in Sūrah Hūd, which stated “Seek forgiveness from your Lord, then turn towards Him in repentance. Surely, my Lord is very merciful, most loving.” (90)
The name was mentioned once again in Sūrah Al-Burooj, which stated, “And He is the Most-Forgiving, the Most-Loving.” (14)
For the people who know how to speak and write Arabic, love is recognized as الحب (al-Hub); however, الودود (al-Wadud) is derived from the word الود (al-Wud), which means love and an expression of love through the act of giving.
As you can see الود (al-Wud) is a much stronger word than الحب (al-Hub). It does not only mean to love but to love with expression.
For Instance, الحب (al-Hub) is an emotion that is settled in the heart, while الود(al-Wud) is your expression of that feeling, which is reflected in your behavior. If you love a person, what you feel towards them is love; however, the smile on your face, for example – that behavior is الود(al-Wud). If you give them a gift, it is الود(al-Wud). Internal sentiment is love, while actions upon this love defines الود (al-Wud).
So, by defining the meaning of one name of Allāh ﷻ among 99 in ‘Islām, it makes you think. Allāh ﷻ does not only love you but He shows it as well. Hence, the name الودود (al-Wadud).

Why not love the Being who is the Creator of all beauty, why not love that Being who is beauty Himself?

😇 💙 يا ودود Oh Loving ..
I just realised, i wanted something so badly and Allah facilitated it for me from means i didn’t even except. And subhanallah, i didn’t even make du'a for it (which i should have).
And it’s just little things like this that Allah does for you that you don’t even ask for that makes you realise the amount of love He has for you.
His help goes beyond our imagination. Musa عليه السلام understood this when he was trapped between fir'aun and the red sea. Zakariyyah عليه السلام understood this when he asked for a child even though he and his wife were in their old age; and so too did Ibrahim عليه السلام when he prayed for the fire to be cooled around him.
They had tawakkul in Allah and Allah rewarded them with peace and contentment. And this is why Allah was sufficient for them.
Wallahi, we haven’t fully grasped the meaning of having tawakkul in Allah, for if we did, we wouldn’t need anything else or seek anything else.
Al-Wadud: The Loving One Explanation: The One who loves His believing slaves and His believing slaves love Him. His love to His slaves is His Will to be merciful to them and praise them.
