Can I just say that maybe if Josh had someone in his life, a parent, a friend or a lover, that would actually love him deeply and be there for him, through the butterfly effect he wouldn't have died/turned into a wendigo?

hm, well it’s hard to say? i do think he had people who cared about him - the end of the game is more like a culmination of everybody’s bad decisions. we never met josh’s parents or even learned all that much about them, but it did seem like they were trying to get him help? and we have no way of knowing for sure what the real dr. hill was like, we only met josh’s hallucination.

of the until dawn characters that we do meet, all of them have their own personal flaws and are going through a pretty shitty time. they’re hanging out in a place where two of their friends disappeared a year ago, and the majority of them are directly responsible for what happened. even the three that aren’t likely feel responsible, since josh and chris were passed out drunk and sam didn’t actually try to stop the prank.

it feels unfair to say that no one loved him or was there for him - both sam and chris care about him deeply, and sam implies that they were indeed there for each other after the twins disappeared. but again, everyone involved was going through a very hard time. and josh’s parents had lost two thirds of their kids in a single night.

lastly, and this really does bear pointing out, i really don’t think the power of love would’ve been stronger than hannah. hannah was very, very strong.
