🍄 🌰 🍂 Mabon🍂🌰🍄 By the time of the autumnal equinox, in 2017 it's september 22nd, 20:02 CET,  pagan folks celebrate Mabon. This holiday originates from celtic mythology and is part of the wiccan wheel of the year, but it's celebrated by lots of other faiths around this time. Christians in germany tend to have it around september 30th - the first sunday of october. But harvest festivals in general are celebrated up until november, depending on your tradition ;) ! But back to Mabon - It's usually celebrated by having a feast, expressing your gratitude. You'd typically cook something with venison, apples, cakes, stews, and I often use mushrooms and pumpkins too! Oh, and of course homemade bread with a lot of spices like rosemary or caraway. This year I think I'm gonna have some stew. Very probably (and very german) sauerkraut with potatoes, bay, cloves, juniper berries, allspice and roasted bacon.
