AK and Nicky's relationship (Beneath the Airwaves)

as my story unfolds, I keep thinking of AK and Nicky as a pairing, more specifically- after The Finale, they only retain memories of what happened, and they have sort of codependent QPR, they realize their past upbringing does not define them. a lot of the relationship being genuine but also defined by trauma (of the monsters attacking hazelnut, finding out they are cartoons) and them wanting to find out what happened to them. nicky has a lot of relationship trauma from being with stuart, especially as it pertains to recovering memories of what happened when she grew up. AK quickly becoming overprotective of Nicky, yet really wanting to be nurturing. I also really liked the idea of his day job/persona being a magician (the idea was given to me by i-stand-unshaken), being so obsessed with science, and then later with the power of hyperreality taking an interest in magic. nicky having a type of eccentricity/flashiness, a character he only uses with his magician persona. he would be healthy with her some ways and some other ways. another thing is that "kevin" from the finale wouldn't actually exist as a canon mutual romantic relationship, and that nicky wasn't really in the finale- but it was a double of her. another thing, is AK being genuinely very therapeutic to Nicky, something she needs considering the state of therapy in her own universe (like straight up not having good therapy in Hazelnut or anywhere). she becomes very defensive as a character flaw

A very Kane Christmas headcanons

Christmas gift to @reminiscentreader and @lyrakanefanatic <333

A//N: (jas the fic is coming i swear im js a slow writer)

sophie makes THE BEST cookies and she always makes christmas themed ones

granny kane knits all the kids and grandkids sweaters 

they all go christmas carolling but then because the whole town knows the kanes everyone joins in until the whole town is christmas carolling

that one karen down the street always calls the police bc of them being too loud and the police is like “ma’am it’s christmas this is normal.”

most gigantic christmas tree like ever and everyone gets to put 2 ornaments each

alec always gets to put the star on top because he’s the baby

they do a big bonfire outside where all the kane siblings tell stories to the kids and then granny has her dedicated 15 minutes of stories

so for the kane cousins, there’s sections. so there’s the big kids, who are all in uni or freshly graduated (lyra’s group). then there’s the middles who are like tweens and teens. then there’s the kids, though there’s only 3, two 6 yr old twins and little alec.

when the kids get super high on sugar, they start running around and hanging off the walls and stuff.

only 4 of the 5 kane siblings have kids.

the sleeping arrangements: the 3 big kids sleep in sleeping bags or mattresses in lyra’s room with her. the tweens and teens all sleep in sleeping bags in the living room or the library (miles end has a library stfu) the adults usually just crash on the multiple couches  but the 2 oldest uncles are those weird ppl who like camping in the backyard the little kids usually just sleep wherever their parents sleep

there is lots of dancing on tables

the most frequently used sentence is “SWEETIE REMEMBER TO WEAR A JACKET”

secret santa is taking very seriously

they ALL gather in the living room to watch home alone 

literally only 3 people in the whole family are decent cooks so they just order a lot of food

one time somehow one of the tweens made it onto the roof and couldn’t come down so they had to call the fire department 

when grayson joined in he felt VERY out of place

charades is practically a tradition at this point

aunt leigh and lyra as a duo can never be beat

grayson and sophie usually hang around each other a lot because they both like the quiet

sometimes the kids make them watch the first harry potter movie because “CHRISTMAS IS IN THE MOVIE SO ITS A CHRISTMAS MOVIE”
