Needle
Aziphem had not taken his meds and Warren was seeing why the one time he met with Ko alone he drilled into him that he had to,
On the other side of the door Aziphem screamed and hurled himself against the door, fighting for a way out of the closet. Warren braced himself, halo rattling with each hit from the demon.
“I’ll fucking KILL YOU-” A distorted voice came from behind the hard wood. “Warren you fucking piece of shit angel let me out.”
The reminders that he was an angel now always stung worst. Aziphem had promised not to but- well - he was not exactly in his right mind. Warren pressed his back to the door and fumbled with his phone. A number he had bookmarked and never wanted to call.
“Mr. Vale.” Ko’s voice was calm as ever on the other side of the phone. “Truly a pleasure-”
“Stuff it.” Warren snapped, enduring a particularly harsh barrage. He rattled off their GPS coordinates. “He’s off his meds.”
“Oh dear.” The phone beeped and just as Warren was cursing that bastard for hanging up on him, the air ahead of him shimmered.
Alejo barged in and pressed against the door, just as Warren was weakening. Warren collapsed to the ground but smacked Ko’s hand away when it was offered to him.
“You’re welcome.” Ko sighed, crossing his arms. Perhaps it was the fall from grace, or maybe the fact he talked to Warren as an equal, but Warren had noticed Ko was much less fake calm.
“We need to get him sedated.” Ko opened his bag, retrieving a long needle. “This has his medication and a heavy dose of anesthetic. He will be asleep as soon as it hits his system. Alejo, you hold him while I-”
“While I give him the dose.” Warren interrupted.
“Do you really want him associating this with you? You are his caretaker.”
“He’s my boyfriend.” Warren hissed. “He’s scared- I want to show him that this care can be gentle.”
Ko sighed but handed Warren the syringe. “If you so desire.”
Warren took the needle and uncapped it, taking a stance in front of the door. “Let him out.”
“Alejo will grab him.”
“I will grab him.”
“You are so stubborn.” Ko sighed. “We will be here if he overpowers you.”
“He won’t.”
Alejo and Warren locked eyes, a small nod from the elder angel. He braced, then threw the door open. Aziphem flew out, screaming and grabbing at Warren. Sharp teeth met shoulder but Warren only grunted.
“I know you’re scared my love.” He whispered, pinning Aziphem into a hug as he tried to pull away. “This is ok. This is healing. I love you.” He whispered.
Aziphem screamed and tried to rip, only to have Warren jam the needle in. Instantly he calmed, gently closing his eyes as the anesthetic hit. Warren shushed him softly, cuddling him in as his bite loosened.
“I love you.”
