Astro Boy(2003) Dub names ranked

talking about every major name change of a character in this series in it's English dub. Specifically created for this dub, so Astro himself isn't counted. These rankings are arbitrary and don't take them seriously (original is listed first, dub name is listed second.) Dr. Ochanomizu- Dr.O'shay Honestly, in terms of the dub names of this character it's definitely the best at Americanizing his Japanese name. Though, eh tbh I would've preferred they just simplify it to Ochan or O'chan in retrospect. Still I think it's solid. 7/10 Uran-Zoran ... I'm gonna completely honest I genuinely think they only did this because they were worried her name would sound like "urine" Not terrible it exists 5/10 Shunsaku Kisaragi/Mustachio - Wally Kisaragi I like that the name change rhymes, makes it more fun to say. I think replacing one japanese name with an american one but keeping the other is funny so. it doesn't beat his 1963 anime dub name of: "Sir Percival Pompous" if that was his name in this dub it would be a 10/10. As is though... 6.5/10 Kenichi-Kennedy Perfectly average name change, pent up ramble, I was so shocked to learn Kenichi was/is one of the most important characters in Tezuka's work. Because when looking at his original look, he has the most generic design of Astro's friendgroup. It just baffled me. Then I watched the Metropolis movie and realized he's kind of goated with the sauce. none of that has to do with the rating buuuut 6/10 it gets the job done Shibugaki-Abercrombie Okay everyone else I can see a point A to B with how we got their name change, this is not one of them. I guess it rhymes? I guess it has the same number of syllables? THATS COOL ??/10 Tamao-Alejo Idk it's a lil charming. 6/10 Lamp-Mr.Drake Honestly I love this one purely because everytime they say it in the dub I imagine Drake the Rapper, and it's a little funny. Which nudges it above the rest. This name change makes some sense because bro literally never does the balancing candle thing once outside the GBA game, which is like, the whole reason he's named lamp. What a fraud... he's one of my favorite characters in the show though 7/10 Bonus: Hamegg-Brunard??? Deadass I think they only said his name a total of one time so I actually never realized his name was changed lol. It gets no rating because I am not convinced it exists.
