I feel like we all slept on Battleship. Like, I know it's not the best, but it's definitely entertaining with a fun cast of characters. Also, the Hopper/Nagata potential is *chef's kiss*. I read all 9 of their fics on ao3 the last few days while I've been healing. If anyone wanted to write me a "sorry you've had a shit start to your year and that you are now missing a tooth, also happy late birthday" fic, it would definitely be for them 😉😉.

Once in Artisan Alley, the siblings agree to split up. Aruena went off to find a carpenter to commission nursery furniture from and shop for a few other necessities, while Feanor had a different plan entirely: having noticed an old friend in the inn, he decided to join him for a game of cards and catch up.

Under normal circumstances, Aruena would have scoffed at her brother’s nonchalance. But she had her own reasons for wanting to go independently: the fact that Feanor’s reputation had surpassed her own was not lost on her, and while she was genuinely happy that The Bay’s citizens seemed to love him so much, she felt that perhaps she wasn’t doing enough on that front herself.

So while the trip to Artisan Alley was primarily a shopping trip, it was also an opportunity to socialize, and Aruena made a point to be nice to everyone she met. An amiable approach and a pleasant smile really do make a difference - Aruena’s reputation was on the way up! Of course, Feanor was still the more popular sibling, but good PR isn’t something that just happens overnight - it has to be cultivated carefully over time, Aruena knew, and even laying down good foundations can go a long way!
