I don’t know how to voice my opinion anymore. Not clearly, not concisely, not even to my own ears. The same questions are asked, over and over again, and every day it seems my responses lessen. I thought I was finally learning to stand on my own two feet but I think instead the earth might just be swallowing me whole.
I broke a lot of mirrors when I was young, seems when it comes to bad luck I have no where left to run

We haven't seen each other in ages but we fall back into step like its barely been a day. It's like my center of gravity never really stopped being you, it just got weaker the farther we pulled away.
They say no matter how hard we try to wash our souls of them, we all become our parents in the end. It is for this reason I will never have children, for I could never submit another to the life I have lived.
Things I've Learned (#1)

I have the best friends in the world. One of them drove three hours home from school just for the night because she could tell I was having a bad day. The other took me in so I wouldn't have to go home, despite the fact that she has an exam in the morning and work all day. It's amazing how easily they can distract me, lift me back up, and balance me on my own two feet once again. We didn't even do anything revolutionary, just sat around and watched TV. Laughed. God did we laugh, until we were breathless and clinging to each other for dear life. Tonight I'm grateful for them.

I looked in the mirror today and genuinely didn't recognize myself. It was jarring to say the least. To be fair it was late, and I wasn't wearing my contacts, and the lights were dim. So maybe I'll look again and things will be different. I've been avoiding the mirrors just in case though.
