This elementary school student noticed that the girls in her class weren’t sharing the work they had done for fear they might be wrong. Their voices were being drowned out ~ even though they had done the work and had ideas to contribute. So Alice took action. She inked an op-Ed for the New York Times sharing her own thoughts that started with three simple words: Raise your hand. Then, she worked with the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital to create a Raise Your Hand patch program designed to boost girls’ confidence.
