This is Morpheus .. he's an alien betta, which are hybrids of Betta splendens (the ones you see in the stores) and various wild Betta species. He's got an interesting temperament compared to other bettas I've had because of that!

I know I haven’t been posting on here much but I just wanted to provide a little update ! unfortunately, Freckles passed away (he seemed to have a lot of underlying health issues :c) but I did visit a LFS and decided to get an alien betta !

I think I might name him Ripley like from Alien but I’m not sure yet. I don’t have a photo of him in his tank because he only came home yesterday and I’m letting him relax for a bit but here’s a photo of him at the LFS. his fins were clamped but hopefully more space and hides will make him feel better!
