Summary: While hiding from Working Joe's, a stranger comes to your rescue.

A/N: So sorry for this being so short. Just a little practice with Samuels.

Sevastopol Station

"Don't run."

"You're starting to test my patience."

Ragged breaths, left your lips.

A drop of sweat fell down your forehead. The Working Joe's words repeatedly playing in your head.

Stupid. You were so stupid. For stepping foot out of the safety of your hideout, knowing the dangers that were lurking around every corner of the station.

Food. Water. It was supposed to be a simple supply run. In and out. No complications. But that's not how things went. Here you were, squeezed into a vent. Hands gripping firmly onto a metal pipe, forged into a weapon by your fear.

Those freaking androids.

This place was crawling with them. And with your luck, you had to run into one.

And it was on your tail.

You had no other choice but to run and hide. They were too strong. There was no way to fight them off, or to even shut them all down for good.

But even now, you weren’t safe.

They were intelligent. Could still track you, find you.

Would.

“I can’t stay here forever.”

You pant.

“They’ll find me.”

But, those androids weren’t the only dangerous things out there. No. Other threats were out there. Humans. Other people, who would kill you or hurt you. Because they were doing what they believed was necessary.

And an unknown threat. One that there were rumors about.

Some deadly alien species.

You had no real weapons or fire power. No sort of backup.

You would be toast.

THUD.

CLUNK.

You gasped.

The sound of someone or something approaching startled you. Made you freeze.

No.

Please.

Your grip on the pipe, only tightened. Making your knuckles turn white.

Stay away.

Again.

THUD.

CLUNK.

You swallowed. Fully expecting to hear the Working Joe’s voice.

To be a goner.

But you would fight. If you were going to die, you would fight.

Then, a voice spoke.

“Hello, is someone in there?”

You titled your head.

That voice. That wasn’t the voice of one of the androids.

It sounded…human.

Fuck.

A person??

Still, you didn’t speak or move.

Even if it wasn’t a Working Joe, but a human? There was no way you were going to be stupid. Risk it.

“Do you need help?”

“I can assist you.”

SCREECH.

The vent door swings open.

You raise your weapon, ready to attack. To defend yourself.

“Hello?”

A figure kneels down. Peeking his head into the vent.

His gaze landing on you.

“Stay the fuck back!” You warned.

“I am not here to harm you.”

“Stay back!”

He raises his hands.

It seems he got the message. That you weren’t kidding

So, he doesn’t move. Stay’s right where he is. Because, he sees how scared you are and doesn’t want to press you further.

“Stay away!”

“Please. You can lower your weapon.”

“No.”

“I am not here to harm you. I only want to help.”

“Bullshit.” You snapped.

You shake your head.

“Who are you?”

“My name is Samuels.”

You stared.

Your gaze then flickered down to the emblem on his suit. You recognized it.

Weyland-Yutani.

“You’re a Weyland-Yutani model.”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

He nodded.

“Please. Allow me to help you.”

“Help me?”

“One of those Seegson Synthetics.” He began. “I ran into it not far from here. I take it, it was pursuing you?”

“Yes. It was trying to kill me.”

“Let me help you.” He outstretched his hand. Palm facing upwards. Offering it you. Asking for your trust. “I can guide you through the station. Back to safety.”

You looked down at his hand.

How did you know you could trust him? That he wouldn’t try to hurt you?

Kill you?

“You…just want me to go with you?”

“There are more of those Working Joes nearby.” He said. “I reckon it won’t be long before they find you.”

He was right.

They would find you sooner or later. You’d be screwed.

“We don’t have much time.”

Trusting him?

It was a risk. Because you didn’t truly know his intentions.

He claimed to want to help you, take you to safety. But that didn't mean that what was he actually intended on doing. That he was worthy of your trust.

You contemplated your options.

If I stay here, I’ll die.

There was no doubt about it.

They would find you, those androids. They would not hesitate to try and kill you.

But if I go?

I might have a chance...

You could live.

"I know that you might be weary to trust me." Samuel's sensed your hesitation. Your worry of his intentions. "You are afraid, and I understand that. But if you don't come with me now I may never see you again. I won't be able to help you."

His expression softened.

It became strangely gentle. Something you had never seen in one of his kind before.

It took you by surprise.

"I..."

"I do not wish to see harm come to you."

"I will find you."

A Working Joe's voice echoed through the air.

Fuck, it's getting close.

Stricken with fear, you gave a reluctant nod.

"Okay, I'll trust you."

You reached out, taking Samuel's hand. He then pulled you out of the vent.

You landed on your feet.

"Get me out of here."

Samuel's lips curved into a smile. "Of course. Follow me and try to keep up." Then, you both scurried off.
