Just a nice, pleasant trip with some friends featuring @vasheden's Rinkah and @diamondangelkitten's Alinea!
Watched the Iceland ep of Dead Set on Life and commented that Bæjarins beztu hot dog stand is my favorite restaurant on the planet (along with Demera in Chicago). Asked the partner what their favorite was and they don’t have one yet. So I ask where do you want most to eat, then? He says Alinea. So. We are looking at making reservations. And I am allowing myself to have these wildly nuanced sociological and artistic thoughts about it! Like. For starters, though I could go on: I get that they are doing what they do because they love it, but there’s the conspicuous consumption of it, but also Grant throws that in folks faces sometimes, and he is apparently a Good Fucken Human.
Was having such a hard time putting a finger on it, because I hit on something like these feelings and I want to inspect them, and was working out parsing that. For me, food and cooking are about caring for people, seeing people, hearing their stories, and just really chowing tf down and then was like… “The Menu!!” The Menu is how I feel about it. I can and do walk in so many worlds. But ultimately, I am just a poor kid. And So. SO. For me… where I’ve landed, atm, is that it’s about how you approach it, and the respect for it for what it is, and meeting it where it is, respecting the people who make your food as whole ass people with history. Kindness. Not being a dick. Which. The Bear. Omfg. The Bear.
The final dessert! It's so wild and glorious and amazing! And a whole show! It's dark chocolate nitro frozen ice cream with pecans and then like three sauces including caramel, chocolate, fruit and then freeze dried cheddar and pretzels and just... amazing.

For the filming of their new collection, the designers of the French brand Alinea traveled to the Spanish island of Menorca and rented a beautiful villa right next to the sea. The place was chosen for a reason, because the timeless Mediterranean style was chosen as the basis for the new interiors, and the main idea of the collection is the use of decor made from natural and sustainable materials. Although the company is positioning the new line as autumn, the photos are still full of summer warmth and sunny mood. Enjoy these beautiful inspirations!
