Spoilers for Chat Blanc trailer

So we’re all wondering why and how Chat got akumatized, and what the trailer means, so I’m gonna try and figure it out the best I can (apologies if this has already been discussed before)

We can obviously see Alix /Bunnix in this picture frame. From what we’ve learned from the past episodes, Alix’s miraculous has the power to go through time. This means that Alix has taken Marinette into the future, reasons unknown as of now, but I think I know why:

Adrien is obviously still young in this photo, since you can see he has the same nose structure, face shape, and Chat costume, the only difference being that everything is inverted white. From the rest of the trailer, this is the future version of Adrien. Yes he’s not older looking, but when given the circumstances this could possibly be a 10-year-old akumatized Adrien.

Reasons as to why he still akumatized may be because there is a new Hawkmoth. In one of the past episodes, where we had Alix‘s debut as a miraculous holder, we learned that there is a new Hawkmoth, meaning that Gabriel is not going to continue to be Hawkmoth in the future. Also shown in another previous episode, we learned that once the miraculous is handed off to someone else, possessions, creatures, and others are not in control of the new beholder. Unless another miraculous is involved, the before mentioned is not containable or controllable. This could also apply to akumatized victims, meaning either Lila, Chloe, Alya (which is a theory for another day), or the new butterfly miraculous holder has no control over Chat.

You’re probably wondering why I’m saying this is a past version of Adrien who has been akumatized for over 10 years or more. In looking further into the trailer, you can see why:





Paris seems to be surrounded by water or ice. This means that Chat Blanc probably had some part in doing this, and it wasn’t all done overnight. Unless his power was to dismantle cities, I really doubt that he made everything into water in one simple minute. This is most likely 10 years of work hunting down Ladybug, who is probably in hiding at this point, since we now know from Miracle Queen that she is the holder of the miracle box. Only Chat, who was the only conscious person at the time when she was handed over the responsibility, knows this. The new Hawkmoth, if Lila, will most likely want all of the miraculous for themselves, meaning Chat would have to hunt down Ladybug and take the box before getting her earrings.

All in all, the trailer, I believe, shows a futuristic apocalyptic version of Paris all created by Chat after he was akumatized when he was younger. The way they presented this trailer was more like an action horror trailer rather than a lighthearted funny one. It would be a big joke if future Chat Noir was really akumatized because he was upset that he wasn’t able to be a kid anymore, and the creators are just playing a joke on us giving us this big grand reveal. But regardless, I’m certain for one thing: We’re getting more development on the future versions of Ladybug and Chat Noir, as Alix most likely wouldn’t have been in this trailer if we weren’t discussing this; she’s only ever used unless is talking about time jumping.

Also as an add-on, I’m now realizing that this is maybe how Alix’s miraculous was damaged in the future. She’s not supposed to reveal anything to the past versions of Ladybug and Chat, so him cataclysming her miraculous while he was akumatized was probably how this all happened. Ya know Im low-key pretty darn jealous of Alix. She gets to roller blade everywhere and actually has places to do it. I used to own a pair of roller blades until my brother burned them and I never had an appropriate place to use them. Still don’t. Wanted to for 10+ years.
