i honestly don't think eshelon is going to be evil but even if he is, literally every character in the game has had some kind of redemption/secretly not evil/was misguided or brainwashed/still kind of a nuisance but funny about it kind of story. like even if he did steal our magical girl wand (which i honestly doubt they're revealing that person this early in the story), with palia's track record it's more likely that he would have a good/understanding reason for it.
