can not get over the fact that Sauron, with “operation get all the Numenoreans to Sin So Much they Die”, Absolutely Did Not Expect the scale of Eru’s retaliation.

Mad Lad’s standing on top of his 500x500ft solid gold temple, laughing his ass off at those dumbass humans, when all of a sudden the plug of the world gets pulled and he’s spinning around the ocean like a spider in a tub wondering where he went wrong.

i changed the rating for now. it won’t get M until later chapters so i’ll swap it out then. hhhm.

Summary:

we are the darkness in their light. there is no one without the other. no smile without a tear. no joy without fear.

they think they are different from us, that they are better, and we are worse. they think of right and wrong, and good and evil, and black and white. we are all the heroes of our own story.

except when we are villains. and we are, villains.

Notes:

i've been sitting on this chapter for uuhhh months now. wanted to have one more buffer chap done before i posted but we can't all get what we want! so. you guys get an update. i get to cry over more words.

anyway, slight divergence here from the first version of the fic. i've had a year to think on things and i have Ideas that i never got to implement previously.

Fun part about that, though

For the Varda-verse is that Ilmare/Sinmara exists in a world where 'Eru Iluvatar' is the Arkhanazun, and thus with the Downfall of Numenor directly gets the literal capital G God himself to intervene in his creation because she draws his notice. That moment is going to be one of the most fun to write in my version of the Alkallabeth, as it showcases that in the end no matter how mighty the Valar and the Maiar are, the true Creators are unstoppable and remote cosmic entities whose presence turns the story into an Outside Genre Experience.

And on a different note… This by @lintamande is very good too.

And anybody who uses anything i may say… or do as a justification for saying who’s life is “worth living” or pulling any bullshit about chronic illness or any disability is an asshole and i will take vengance. Have too many friends who are very seriously ill or disabled that want more years.  It’s not just a disability thing.  There’s more going on here.

And Atanamir is a hero.* definitely
