Apple Cranberry Crisp

So, I made this the other night. Readers (if I have any), you should know that I don’t make things from scratch often, so I’m pretty damn proud of it!! =D

It consisted of granny smith apples, frozen cranberries, brown sugar, all purpose flour, buttery margarine, rolled oats, all bran, and cinnamon. If there was something else, I can’t remember. I used a combination of a recipe found online and one of my Nana’s. The apples, cranberries and brown sugar went onto the bottom of the dish, then the rest was broken up to make the crumble topping. Made both the bottom and top even and then microwaved it (not many people know to do that, or that they can do that I think!), for eleven minutes. I might do a little less next time, because the topping was a little crunchy, but still good!

It seems like an easy dessert to make, but it tasted so awesome, with enough left over for a second evening. Couldn’t taste the cranberries in it, just made it tart in places. I’m really stoked about how it came out and I hope/can’t wait to make more things in the future! ^^

Update…

It was the wrong All Bran, didn’t taste right and the texture wasn’t right. Turns out it needs to be ‘the original’ All Bran, which I’m hoping I can lay my hands on. Stay tuned, I’ll get it right eventually.
