After Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher announced their departure from the WallStreet Journal and AllthingsD late last year everyone was curious about what will come next. They only told the rest of the world that there will be launching a new conference and a new site. Now we finally now what they had in mind. On the eve of new year Kara Swisher Announced that the new Website will launch January 2nd to the rest of the world and will be named Re/Code. They also announced the launch of the new Code Conference which will have it's first session on March 27th in Santa Monica, Calif.

The new Site still features most of AllthingsD's old staff and writers and still offers high quality articles about the world of technology, media, social and many more. If you are interested in those topics I recommend to give it a try!

Jonathan Krim, introducing the Wall Street Journal’s replacement for AllThingsD. The Journal learned a lesson: this one feels like part of the Journal itself, everything from the name to the visual design. AllThingsD always looked and felt like an independent entity.

Yeah, to the point where I thought AllThingsD was its own independent entity.  Never knew (or always forgot) that it was part of WSJ itself.
