the graphic is awful but i thought it was time i made my first advice / masterpost! i’m gonna be talking about study snacks :) we’ve all been there, we’re studying but also craving some sweet or salty food, and i’m sure all of us have made the mistake of choosing junk food over healthy stuff. well here are some ideas of food that is healthy and super easy to prepare! even those who are victims of laziness and lack of motivation can prepare these.
fruits:
-apples!! cut them up and eat them with cheese, peanut butter, nuts (especially almonds)
-bananas! cut up as well, eat with peanut butter, nuts, honey
-stone fruits! personally, i love peaches, they’re so sweet and soft. but there are obviously others like apricots and nectarines. i’d have them with nuts, or more fruit, specifically berries. you could make a quick fruit salad of cut up peaches and berries!
-berries!!! a perfect snacking option, these are convenient and delicious. cherries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, mix them all up or just eat them on their own, but berries are definitely a good study snack. just wash em and go! you can have these with almonds or other fruits.
-frozen fruit! can’t forget this, it’s so convenient, especially for....
-SMOOTHIES!!! i love making smoothies, personally i use a sweetener (like honey,) a fat (like avocado or peanut butter), a leafy green (baby spinach), 1-2 cups of fruit that you think will pair well together, and a liquid, milk or yogurt, or water if that’s your thing. here’s a website that has a lot of information on making the perfect smoothie!
vegetables:
-celery! i love celery, it’s just crunchy water! i love eating this with peanut butter, raisins, hummus, salad dressing, or cream cheese.
-carrots!!! carrots are probably my fav vegetable, so tasty! have it with any type of dip that you’d use on celery, maybe not peanut butter though.
-cucumber! slice that shit up and have it with any dip you’d use on carrots :)
-salad! i have like no experience with salad yet, because i’m just starting to become healthier and i’m focusing on replacing more of my junk food then starting on new types of food, but i will get into salad! add nuts instead of croutons!
-frozen vegetables!! frying them up is super easy and delicious just add a sauce!
dairy (not good for your skin, eat in moderation):
-yogurt! just buy some yogurt cups, and maybe throw in a couple of berries if you don’t buy it flavoured! or granola!
-cheese! baby bel and laughing cow are good options for convenience, they’re also really delicious! you can pair them with anything, i prefer apples to crackers because i feel it’s healthier, but you should be okay with multi-grain or vegetable crackers!
-a glass of milk! this sounds weird but milk tends to fill you up, so if you’re looking for something super quick to take off the hunger’s edge, just grab a cup of milk and keep on studying!
grains:
-toast! use multi-grain or whole wheat bread, and have it with avocado, almond butter, almonds, cocoa butter, apples, aNYTHING. god toast is so good
-pasta! the easiest proper meal to make, just make sure it’s either whole-wheat or quinoa, and don’t add too much cheese!
-quinoa! i don’t eat a lot of this, but i looked it up and it seems like after you cook it you can have it with just about anything! nuts, fruits, you can make anything out of it and i imagine it’s veryy healthy.
-oats! i make oat bars sometimes, they’re deliciousss. also try oatmeal, the texture is gross imo but its filling and healthy and you can add fruits.
-granola! when push comes to shove, a granola bar is always my go-to when motivation is at an all-time low. or granola cereal, granola in general i can always just snack on.
others:
-i couldn’t decide which category to place this in, but TRAIL MIX. make your own! it’s amazing and filling and just such a good option. you generally want one type of nut, a dried fruit, a seed, a sweet, and a grain. i use peanuts, dried blueberries, sunflower seeds, peanut butter chips, and pretzels. i also add an extra dried fruit, banana chips. but it’s totally up to you! i love trail mix sm and it’s a great choice.
-seeds! my favs are pumpkin and sunflower, but there are chia, flax, anything you want! they’re so convenient, just put some in a bowl and munch away!
-nuts! peanuts, almonds, cashews, damn just i love them, they’re crunchy, tasty, and filling. you can have them with ANYTHING.
-eggs! fried, scrambles, sunny-side up, eggs are easy. i like adding cheese, just limit the amount! i also add cold meat sometimes, but that’s rare because cold meat is ALSO unhealthy sadly, despite being delicious.
-grilled cheese, so easy and delicious. maybe not the healthiest choice but hey it’s there if you absolutely must. i like to add meat, like bacon or cold meat, on the rare occasion i enjoy one of these sandwiches
-sandwiches in general are super easy, cold meat and cheese isn’t the healthiest but it’s filling and good, so as long as you include a veggie and use whole-wheat or multigrain bread, you should be fine.
SUPER convenient / WAY MORE healthy:
-replace peanut butter with peanut butter chips, almond butter
-replace crackers with apples for cheese
-replace cookies with strawberries and dark chocolate (eaten in moderation)
-replace chips with unsalted pretzels, nuts, wasabi peas, dried fruit, anything that’s quick and tasty
-replace croutons in salad with peanuts
-replace mayo with avocado
-replace butter and most oils with coconut oil
that’s all i have for you guys today, hope you enjoy :) feel free to add more!!
