You know those times when you ask a question even though you already know the answer and you know that you're not going to like it ... but you still go ahead and ask ... yeah
I love that Yuri on Ice can make me care about how well fictional ice skaters do in ice skating competitions almost more than I care about the healthy relationship my two favorite characters are in.
Bridget Kelly’s New Song, “I Won’t Cry / Almost More”
Bridget Kelly has finally presented us with new material in the form of a two-part tune titled “I Won’t Cry / Almost More.”
I love the tone in her voice on this song because it’s so reminiscent of the style I’ve grown to cherish from Brandy. The first part of the 5 minute song, “I Won’t Cry,” drew me in because it’s R&B crooning at its finest and the lyrics are easy for anyone that’s experienced heartbreak before to relate and connect to. Now the second half of the song is my favorite because I like the production from C4 and Bongo the Drum Gahd, and her sassy flair that transforms it into a catchy slow jam. While I am convinced this is not a lead single, it definitely should be. All I need from Ms. Kelly now is for her to perform this in a live setting since her voice sounds exactly the same as her recordings.
“I Won’t Cry / Almost More” will appear on her forthcoming debut studio album All Or Nothing. There is currently no official word on when the project will be released and I’m starting to get impatient with her and Roc Nation, but there’s nothing I can do about that. I am confident that when the album does arrive, it’s going to hit the R&B enthusiasts in the throat. She’s going to have a really good look because most of the material she’s released through her previous EP’s have been of superb quality and radio worthy. So the official record she's been working on all these years is bound to be an even better body of work when it's ready.
