Chocolate cake?
O5 councils slice of life[total: 1716 words and 9560 characters]
[O5 councils break room, site-01]
It was a nice atmosphere, no disturbance, just silent. O5-1 seems to be on calling someone, O5-5 is reading the newspaper while his crow is resting on his shoulder, O5-7 is enjoying her coffee and lastly O5-10 is reviewing her archive document checking if O5-11 messed with her archive document again. It was so peaceful but it didn't last long when someone slammed the door open so 4 O5 looked up and found O5-3A walking in with the cake he made.
O5-3A: "Evening!"
Then O5-3A put the cake down on a table in front of O5-5 and O5-7 that both of them sit near each other. They both stop what they are doing and stare at the cake that looks like it's gonna send you to heaven not because it's delicious but because it looks poisonous. O5-7 left eye that is now flytrap quickly closes its mouth as if someone is gonna shove it up its mouth.
O5-7: "What the hell is that, 3??"
O5-3: "vanilla cake! I mean it's chocolate now because I made a mistake so I decided to convert it and turn it into chocolate cake!"
O5-5: "Who let you cook?"
O5-5 look at O5-3A who look confidently with his creation
O5-3A: "Oh! It's from cooking class! I attended a cooking class today."
O5-5: "You?? Attending class? I find that unbelievable."
O5-5 looks at O5-3A doubting him because never in his life seen or heard O5-3A ever attend class, just skip or hack the college's system to test its protection each year to see if it improves or not. O5-3A just laughs.
O5-3A: "My usual arcade place didn't open today. The owner of the arcade left the city, having family gathering at their hometown. So I decided to attend class today."
O5-3A paused for a moment before continuing but was cut by O5-10
O5-10: “3, We talked about this before about cooking.”
O5-3A: “Come on! Just trust me this one I follow instruction and recipe-”
O5-10: “You said it was supposed to be vanilla cake and then you decided to convert it to chocolate cake.”
O5-10 shut her archive documents after that and now look directly at O5-3A
The crow that was resting on O5-5’s shoulder caws sound like it’s disapproving, making O5-3A offended and then O5-3A crosses his arms annoyingly and says.
O5-3A: “You all are so dramatic it’s not like I’m putting poison.”
O5-1 paused his call and replied.
O5-1: “You don’t have to put poison in, you are making one.”
O5-1 turns to look at O5-3A and then the cake that is still emitting smoke. No one dared to touch or give the cake a try. It was silent for a moment until O5-3A picked it up and left looking disappointed because his co-worker refused to eat his so-called “masterpiece”.

Twenty minutes later, O5-3A is now found in the hallway holding the same cake while several Alpha-1 operatives stare at the cakes and then O5-3A with suspicious looks.
“So you’re giving us…leftovers?”
one of them ask.
O5-3A: “Mhm.”
O5-3A nods before he continue
O5-3A: “It’s homemade I made from class! Want to give it a try?”
Alpha-1 looked at each other and then back at the cake unsure if they should try or not because they heard before that O5-3A is horribly at cooking and cannot cook at all unless you count instant noodles cups. a moment of silence for about 5 minutes no one dared to touch the cake until one of Alpha-1 who is brave or stupid enough decided to take a slice of cake and before he bit it he decided to ask.
“Sir, What flavor is this?”
O5-3A: “supposed to be vanilla.”
“supposed…to?”
O5-3A: “I converted it”
“That’s…doesn’t sound reassuring.”
O5-3A roll his eyes before replied
O5-3A: “You’re so dramatic it’s not like I’m gonna put poison in it.”
For a brief moment, Alpha-1 who is holding a piece of cake decided to take a bite of it unwillingly because he chose this. He chewed it slowly before swallow it carefully make O5-3A brighten up a bit
O5-3A: “See? no poison maybe it just tastes a little bit bad but it’s safe I swear.”
Upon seeing one of Alpha-1 eat it and nothing happened(for now), Others decided to take a slice until there’s one slice left and they decided to eat it.
O5-3A: “See? it’s safe.”
For a few moment later one of them start feeling weird
“Why did I start to feel like my tongue was numb…”
The hallway froze.
“Your..WHAT?”
“Only a little.”
“Mine too.”
Other operatives look alarmed as O5-3A blinks.
O5-3A: “Hm. That’s weird.”
And then they lean to the wall and look not ok.
“I think…I hear colors. Wait, why is my nose starting to bleed?”
“SHIT SOMEONE CALLED MEDIC QUICKLY!”
O5-3A backed away slowly, still holding the remaining piece of cake.
O5-3A: “Maybe an energy drink is a mistake to put in cake…”
“You put WHAT?!”
O5-3A: “Uh…nothing. See you at Medbay!
O5-3A quickly ran away with the last piece of cake escaping the scene.

After escaping the culinary crime scene. Most of the cakes are gone now because Alpha-1 trusts O5-3A too much. Only one last slice remains and O5-3A is struggling to find someone to eat it. After 20 minutes of struggle he was about to give up until he looked around the corner and saw O5-4 was walking looking more exhausted than usual. His coat wasn’t worn properly, the hat is on the wrong way and the tie isn’t tied properly. O5-3A took this opportunity to give it to O5-4.
O5-3A: “4! wait!”
O5-3A followed and called him then offered him a last piece of cake. Before O5-3A can say anything, O5-4 quickly rejects him.
O5-4: “No, 3”
O5-3A: “Please 4 just take it!”
O5-4: “No.”
O5-4 continues walking away as O5-3A follows him begging him to take a last piece of cake.
O5-3A: “Why don't you support my cooking?”
O5-4: “Because whenever you cook people are gonna gamble their life if they die or just put in medbay. Remember last time you disguised yourself as a chef at another site and then you almost poisoned the whole personnel? lucky ethics didn’t find out who did this.”
O5-3A: “Come on it’s just once!”
O5-4: “Doesn’t make it any better, 3.”
O5-4 continue walking as O5-3A follow him with cake not seems to stop any soon
O5-3A: “Just trust me this one, I swear it’s safe to eat. I just gave most of the pieces to Alpha-1 and they’re fine!”
That makes O5-4 stops, turn back and face O5-3A face to face.
O5-4: “Are you sure?”
O5-4 ask him doubtfully
O5-3A: “Yup.”
O5-4 stares at the cake then O5-3A reconsiders himself if he should risk himself or pass it to another person to let them risk. O5-4 sighs and accepts his fate, takes the last piece and bites it.

.
.
O5-3A: “See, 4? Nothing happened! How was it?”
O5-4 didn’t answer
O5-3A: “4? you alright there?”
O5-4 just standing there frozen, not moving a bit.
O5-4: “I think I see light-”
**THUD**
dead silence.
O5-3A: “...4?”
No response.
O5-3A: “4?”
Still silence.
O5-3A: “4?!!”

Aftermath
[At medbay]
O5-4 is lying unconscious on the bed as a monitor beeps beside him. The room was filled with a faint smell of antiseptic and burnt chocolate somehow. O5-3A sits nearby looking guilty while O5-6 stands beside the bed and crosses his arms looking disappointed. After the long silence O5-3A finally speaks up.
O5-3A: “...Is he dead?”
O5-6: “If he was dead, I'd strangle your neck with my whip.”
O5-3A: “Ok…fair enough.”
One medic walked to them with a clipboard.
Medic: “For legal reasons we are documenting this as accidental poisoning.”
O5-3A immediately looks offended.
O5-3A: “I DIDN’T POISON HIM! THAT’S RUDE OF YOU.”
Medic: “Explain.”
O5-3A: “I just accident-”
Medic: “Yes ‘accident’ that word and it’s in accidental poison"
O5-3A: “COME ON!”
O5-6 sighs heavily nearby as he looks at O5-4 unconscious body before looking at O5-3A.
O5-6: “Seriously 3, What could you possibly put in the cake?”
O5-6 ask him
O5-3A: “Wait let me recall. Hm…I think I put flours, sugar, egg, butter, energy drink-”
O5-6: “Wait. Hold on. You put what?”
O5-6 interrupt him
O5-3A: “Energy drink I know it’s stupid but I have my reason! I can’t find where I place milk so I take an energy drink from my bag.”
O5-6: “That’s the stupidest reason I ever heard from you 3.”
Nearby, another medic adjusts O5-4’s IV.
Medic: “He should wake up soon.”
Both O5-3A and O5-6 immediately turn to look at O5-4
O5-3A: “Should?”
Medic: “Probably. If not then we have to wait for his body to respawn again.”
O5-3A: “PROBABLY?!”
O5-6: “This is the 3rd time he died this week.”
Before O5-3A panic even more O5-4 slowly opens his eyes and stares at the ceiling quietly proceeding himself.
O5-4: “..I think…I can still taste it.”
O5-3A is visibly more relaxed now.
O5-3A: “Thank god!”
O5-4 try to sit up before immediately regretting it.
O5-4: “Ugh…Did I eat poison or get beat up?”
Medic: “Please rest first, Sir.”
O5-4: “I’ll be fine.”
Medic: “You just collapsed in the hallway.”
O5-4: “I collapse all the time. What’s your point?”
Medic: “Doesn’t make it any better, Sir.”
O5-3A awkwardly approaches the bed slowly and now near O5-4.
O5-3A: “Sorry…”
O5-4: “You can say sorry?”
O5-3A immediately looked offended.
O5-3A: “Yes I can? I say it sometimes.”
O5-6: “No, you don’t.”
O5-3A: “I just did.”
O5-6: “That didn't count.”
Suddenly the medbay’s door opens revealing O5-10. She walked inside with reports then she looked at O5-4 who is now gain conscious, O5-3A standing near him and unfinished eating cake on table next to O5-4 before she sighs.
O5-10: “I finished the incident report.”
O5-3A: “What do you call it?”
O5-10: “Culinary assault against personnel and overseer.”
O5-3: “Can you add recklessness at least? You make me sound like a bad person.”
O5-10 “No.”
O5-10 walks to the bedside and places the report down.
O5-10: “From now on I’m gonna ban you from participating in anything involving cooking.”
O5-3A: “WHAT?”
O5-10: “Maybe except for instant noodle cups because it's the only thing you can make without turning into poison.”
Usually these kind of coincidences are deliberate, so I think these characters in Entropy Effect X are “alternate possibilities” of Sector Seven members, or something about BlazBlue’s Timeline is causing them to repeat history similar to possession. The Azure manipulates how Souls are born, but it can also manipulate memories, or just simply transfer copies of older events. Or at least that’s how I see it.
Oh 1000% this shit is deliberate, and unraveling the mystery of what exact connection the EEX cast have to the Sector Seven team will likely be at the core of the game's story.
I shared these thoughts with some folks on Discord the night the trailer came out.
Transcript; "Calling my theories now; the story is something like 'alternate reality Kokonoe realizes she's alternate reality Kokonoe and tries to figure out everything she can about the BB world'. Or some sorta 'alternate reality Kokonoe gets possessed by/makes contact with our Kokonoe and tries to save the BB world,' but that seems more farfetched considering our Kokonoe seems fine in the CF epilogue. Still possible, considering this game is assumedly noncanon (a Cross Tag) or only quasicanon (a BBDW). I think the MOST concerning thing for me, or the biggest question, is Fox just straight up BEING IN the Torifune uniform. Seems a little on the nose. Is this still the BB setting, with Torifune Military Academy and the NOL just, straight up existing?"
Official materials say that the game is, in fact, "set in the BlazBlue universe," but considering how the BB universe works, there's no way to tell this early on what sort of alternate reality/world/timeline it could be.
BlazBlue implements some crazy awesome unexpected shit sometimes, so I don't want to speculate MUCH until we have the game in-hand... but god, I am DYING for more info.
THERE'S SO MANY QUESTIONS! What level of canon will this be??? Does this connect to the phenomen- wait maybe I shouldn't use that word in this context- the case we see happening between Ragna-Touya-Naoto, Rachel-Raquel, and Makoto-Yuki Himezuru??? Am I overthinking the trailer or are they specifically tying this cast to the events of Collisions, with Roy's corruption being clearly connected to whatever's going on with Cafe, and the talk of the Hakumen retrieval mission- WAIT DIDN'T THEY PUT HIM BACK IN THE BOUNDARY AT THE END OF CF??? SO TECHNICALLY HE'S OUT THERE TO BE GOTTEN??? AM I OVERTHINKING THIS???
