Another Manga I got to read because my friend bought it~
What is it about?
Your following Clive a Werewolf who moved into a new city and accidentally found his mate for live. Both of them are Alphas so they aren't exactly happy about that in the beginning. Also Andrew Hale another Alpha is not happy about sharing his territory.
Thoughts on it
Its a good Manga but the bad first:
My Friend (who bought it for 14€) was disappointed in the Manga and let me explain why. Books for readers over 16 are wrapped in plastic so you cant look inside. She is really picky about Art and this wasn’t only not her kind of taste (not feminine more chunky art style) but you could see that the Art was a bit wonky here and there. Also the story seemed to be a spin off of a bigger universe? But no big explanation was given for people who were unfamiliar with this story.
Now to my experience with the book:
Story
Like I already said the story just throws you into the plot with no explanation. I’m not the kind of person who always reads the descriptions on the back, but then I do Its because I’m confused about that the story is about. I heard about Alpha² a few years back and knew that there had to be more than one volume. It seems to be a side story/spinoff of another series.
The story itself was nice to read, even if it was a bit short for my liking. I had loved more development between Quinn and Clive (the main characters) and maybe a bit more explanation about how that mating thing in this universe works. I’m familiar with a lot of vampire/werewolf/omegaverse stories that have this destined partner trope, but because it is a bit differently executed in each story. I would have loved a bit more explanation on that end.
The short story that was included in this edition was cute, but also a bit confusing, but I guess again that because I’m not familiar with the main story?
Art
The Art was good. How Kamineo draws animals was especially beautiful. The humans were wonky with weird proportions and Clive’s hair looked like a little explosion. The background and interestingly the hair of the women in the short story were 3D models that could have been incorporated a bit better. OH and the dudes are hairy~ I’m talking chest hair, happiness road etc. but their butts were clean and squishy ლ(｀∀´ლ) Personally I’m not into chest hair, but it doesn’t make the sexy parts any less sexy (・｀ω´・) hehe~
Conclusion
I gave Alpha² a 3 out of 5 because it is a bit wonky with the art and the beginning and end of the story. It was still a good read and If I get my hands on other volumes of that werewolf universe I would gladly read it.
