The step-dad au i have where Barb and Walter and James Lake Sr are friends initially, some community outreach thing where they met briefly and then Walter and Barbara started to get closer as friends and ofc feelings happen.

Anyway, Walter comes clean to Barbara and then he gets kidnapped by trolls and taken down to troll market and is saved by Arrrrgh ofc (my boy would know him if he was a gum gum) but anyway.

So Barbara knows about most everything, but Jim doesn't. So in this au Jim still becomes the troll hunter, but tells his mom and Walter what is going on from the get go, and blinky still has his prejudices against changlings and Barbara wacks *him* with a broom.

Jim finds out about Wlater also being a changling, he is already upset that his cool museum aunt is a changeling and it causes family drama and Jim gloats about killing the hygienist to Barbara not thinking she *knows* he gets in sooo much trouble for it. And it kinda just gets angsty for a while after that.

There is stuff between that and when Barbara is turned into a troll when she goes on the mission with them (along with nomura and draal.

I havent finished it, like all things the muse got distracted with a new shiny and I haven't really finished it.

Shout out to @margoteve since her step-dad au also inspired this, as well as your own fallout (I need to do another au reread of that and nico's three acts fic to get inspired again perhaps)

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Of my completed fics? Omakase, hands down. No question. It was the first thing I had written in almost 2 years and the first thing I ever wrote for the RWRB fandom. It was so well received and people were so kind, it's why I kept writing tbh.

Of my WIPs? The Fox's Bargain. At this point, only a handful of people are giving it the time of day, and I'm very grateful to them. I hope people will get more into it once it's completed, but I'd go so far as to say it's the best thing I've ever written. No joke. Personal masterpiece, even if no one else thinks so.

D: What’s the most personal fanfic you’ve written?

I'm not sure, to be honest. All of my fics have aspects that are personal to me -- Henry preferring Persuasion to Pride & Prejudice, and Alex's opinions about music -- but there isn't a single whole story that's personally influenced. I'm working on a fic right now that deals with Henry and therapy, and many of the details come from my personal experiences with anxiety, depression, grief and eating disorders... It's a lot and feels a bit raw, so maybe that one?

Does that make any sort of sense? I can't tell anymore ;)

K: What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Stevie motherfucking Budd, hands down.

L: Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

Ellen Claremont absolutely wants to do the right thing by her children. Her execution may sometimes be lacking but the intent is there, and as someone who had a parent without that intent, I can very much appreciate how clear it is that she loves her kids ❤️

N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice). Hmmm for RA... 1. I'd love to see some ADHD Will content, like how he copes while doing Ranger work 2. I'd also like it if canon was taken into account more when making headcanons. Like, not calling out anyone specific here, but a few months ago it was popular for some people to make jokes and headcanons about Halt being a terrible cook, and that's just. Not even remotely supported in canon? Like literally one of the first things Halt does in the book is cook dinner for Will and Will loves it. I think this one mainly gets me steamed bc it's such a huge deal that Halt is someone who's unambiguously masculine but also is competent at domestic chores, cooks well, picks flowers, cries, etc, and none of it is presented as a joke. Stripping that away to make him incompetent at cooking or cleaning or whatever just reeks of toxic masculinity 3. Er. Back on track. I'd love to see more content focussing on the ladies, like Alyss's courier work or so

O - Choose a song at random.
