F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
Ooooo, I come and go sometimes. The longest I've been consistently writing for something seems to be Star Trek Discovery? I have fics there from 2017 and I'm still writing there now and that's 9 years. I don't really count myself as in older Trek fandoms because I'm not writing them right now, so it has to be Discovery.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Jett Reno, between the beginning of her appearances on Discovery season 2 to Academy she has a pretty amazing arc. I also adore Michael Burnham becuase her journey is so important.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Michael Burnham and Sylvia Tilly, I adore them and they're also so good to each other. They have such a lovely arc together too.
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

A- I like ZeLink, particularly BOTW. I don’t think I have an OTP. But I do like that pair as a romantic couple or comrades in arms, they just work well. I don’t tend to get really nuts about things I like generally. So I still like the Scully/Mulder idea even if I don’t read that anymore lol
K- in canon? Here’s out of left field but Sawyer from Lost. Man that show pissed me off at the end lol
M- hmmmmmm I tend to really enjoy media about really terrible events and awful people so I honestly can’t say any of them? In Zelda world…everyone is under 20 and my tolerance in real life to that age group is shockingly short- get back to me when you’re all 30 lol
(And I have had teenager acquaintances but I would not say it developed into friendships until they were mid 20s-30s)

A - Ships that you currently like a lot.
Henry/Catherine, always, no surprise there, I mean... Look at this blog, I'm not even subtle about it and we all know it.
But also... James/Frederick. I've thought SO much about this ship recently (and I've given way too much thought to Frederick's shapely posterior...) Like, not even remotely canon, we don't have any on the page interaction between the two, heck, we don't even know if they ever got introduced to each other buuuuut... I ship it! And I will write more fic for them in the future!
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Plenty.
I mean, it's a bit difficult when it comes to JAFF because there is very little shipping outside of canon and there is pretty much NOTHING outside of canon for Northanger Abbey, so I don't have a ship for NA, but fortunately for me, Mansfield Park exists... The one novel where I prefer the canon ship, yet most of the fandom does not xD I never saw the appeal of Henry Crawford/Fanny. They don't click for me, I guess I can see what others might see there, but all these boxes are boxes I never wanted ticked in the first place. I'm not much for a reformed rake and even less for reluctant acceptance, even if it grows into true love. And, in my opinion, they are different from each other in a way that I feel is incompatible in the long run. Yeah, it's probably a popular ship for reasons, but just not my cup of tea.
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

Yes, I have committed a crime. I also created the idea of Thorpe/Mrs.Norris... which should be explored more, by someone who's not ME and I think I might have coined "thorping" which really should be used more ;)
And I'm totally not above releasing little plot bunnies into other people's gardens. Just yesterday I discussed the nastiest smutcrack with @thoumpingground and I mean, I'm never going to write it but hey, ideas, once released into the world, can't be taken back again. (Has anyone here read The Physicists by Dürrenmatt? I highly recommend!)
Also, I totally plan on adding more crimes, just give me the time to do so ;) If I have to end up as "that person with the Thorpe fics" ... I guess I will!
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Best? Probably not, but I really enjoy Henry's development. Especially because it's very subtle. Or the development I see in the novel, if others don't then perhaps I'm making it up, but what do I care, I enjoy it.
Because to me, at the beginning of the novel, he seems so cynical, somewhat sick of "polite society" and its silly rules, yet abiding to them regardless. He thinks it's all a bit ridiculous and fake, but rather than being genuine, he deals with it by being even more fake! He's... let's say disappointed with what he has seen of the world and turned around to make fun of it. And he thinks he knows it all, yet whenever he tries to flirt with Catherine he is forced to realise that not everyone thinks and acts as he assumes they would. Because not everyone is fake. Catherine is genuine and earnest and assumes the same of everyone else.
So in the beginning a lot of his attempts to flirt go straight over her head, in part because he's more preoccupied with appearing so very clever, rather than making himself known to her. I once used the image of two people playing catch with a ball, only whenever Henry throws the ball either lands smack in Catherine's face or drops to the floor because she doesn't know how to catch yet and Henry started with utter curveballs. And yes, Catherine does learn to understand the world better, she certainly grows during their time in the novel, but also... Henry starts to tone it down a bit, every conversation grows more genuine, more attuned to the way Catherine communicates. Yes Catherine learns how to play catch, but Henry also adjusts his throwing technique. And I love this subtle change in his behaviour. He still teases her and still lets things go over her head, but when he does it at the abbey, it seems intentional, rather than something he expected her to undrstand, more like a game.
He softens during the novel, and he grows more genuine and real and honest. Yes, he also grows a spine, but personally, I just love how he grows to absolutely love and cherish Catherine for who she is, because she loves him for who he is. They see each other, as they are, and ... Yeah, I'm here for it. And I think for Henry to allow this to happen, for him to grow to understand and APPRECIATE Catherine, because in the beginning, in spite of his claims, he proves every now and then that he does NOT understand her, that's a great journey I enjoy every time.
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend
Oh that's difficult! My first thought immediately went to Catherine because she's so lovely and enthusiastic and open and warm and just... yeah. But right now, influenced by a massive headache and feeling unwell in general, I'll say Eleanor instead. Because Eleanor reads as the kind of friend with whom to just co-exist. Sitting in the same room together, each doing their own little thing, just spending time in close proximity.
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
... EVEN MORE?! It's not as if I already have half a dozen lying around with no time to write them. Oh, the joy of having mutuals 🙃
But okay, I'll even play by the rules and come up with a completely new one (may it wander into somebody else's garden) rather than just talking about one I haven't mentioned so far.
I haven't mentioned the multi-novel circus AU inspired by Imaginaerum and this awesome Pratchett-line: "You think the ringmaster runs the circus, do you? Only by the consent of the clowns, Mr Lipwig! Only by the consent of the clowns!" yet, have I?
Aaaanyway, new AU. I love Story of Seasons (Bokujō Monogatari, the japanese game series that HEAVILY inspired Stardew Valley) and I think the concept of having a protagonist end up with a farm of their own in a whole new community, having to find their way and form new relationships along said way... Yeah, you can work with that, certainly works for Northanger Abbey or Jane Austen in general. Especially if you lean into the humour of having cutscenes for friendship/romantic events that trigger under certain conditions and WILL trigger if those conditions are met. (Everyone who has ever tried to have a certain event trigger and had to wait 3 ingame seasons to finally manage OR had three events trigger in a row they didn't even want to see for characters they don't care about will understand the struggle ;)
Like, having Thorpe's events BARGE in at the most inconvenient moments? Catherine not understanding WHY. (Seriously, she can be a tad oblivious, which lends itself well to stories that poke holes into the fourth wall a bit).
Also... Henry... as a very charming postman... I'm not saying that I want that now but I really want that now. 🥺And Eleanor could run an antique store (oh, she'd have the sweetest, softest, most beautiful, tender heart events.) Seriously, just coming up with each characters potential loved and liked gifts (as well as disliked/hated gifts) is already a lot of fun. It doesn't have to be a story. ... I'm digging my own grave here, aren't i?

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)
Eep! Oof, and headcanon has become such a broad term, too... But I'll choose one that is neither confirmed nor denied within the novel, yet would be realistic if true:
I am convinced that Henry owns at least one Spaniel and the only reason we don't see her greeting the future mistress of Woodston Parsonage at the door when Catherine first arrives is because she's the mother of all the little puppies just able to roll about.
Why? Well, Henry owns several guns so he enjoys shooting. Now a Newfoundland can be trained to be a great retriever for waterfowl, but is otherwise not a good gun dog (also, it's explicitly stated to be a young dog so likely untrained and not one Henry would take shooting yet). And Terriers are best for hunting rats. Spaniels though? THE breed for gundogs. Great for tracking, flushing and retrieving game, really, all of it. Have been bred to be trained for the gun sooo long.
Also they have really nice, soft ears and lovely fur perfect for petting. My childhood dog was a black Cocker and they are amazing dogs and I want for Henry to have at least one and nobody can tell me that he had none! I refuse :P
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Only one bed.
Yes, I'm basic, but what's not to love? It works great for any kind of relationship, romantic, sexual, platonic, ANYTHING. It can be soft and warm and caring, or full of reluctance, there can be pining, or awkwardness, or you can make it 100% sexy, everything goes. Sleeping in the same bed leaves characters vulnerable but there are still enough options to put up boundaries (even up to one of them wanting to sleep on the floor instead and oooh the discussions growing from that alone) and yeah... I love it. Give me only one bed and I'm a happy little camper. It's a comfy trope. Can be used for so many purposes, a true all-rounder.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
I actively abandoned jojo because things were getting tense in ways i disliked. i think its a bad sign when people start calling authors with swears or similar inserted in their name but otherwise, i just float and lose interest

I put my library on shuffle and got Wild, Wild Life by the Talking Heads and hrm. It does put a music video in my head but I'm directing it for the Talking Heads lol so this is tricky! I genuinely can't think of anything :(

Parrlyn! I initially couldn’t see it when I entered the Six fandom, but after reading so many wonderful fanfics, it’s now one of my favorite ships!i
K) What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Catra’s development in SPOP is really stellar. Learning how to accept what she’s done wrong, facing her trauma, and showing her true feelings is super admirable, and, I think, relatable to many people.
U) Three favorite characters from three different fandoms and why they’re your favorites.
Katherine Howard from Six! She’s hilarious and sassy, yet still incredibly relatable and empathetic. I’m not a huge fan of some ofthe fandom characterization of her, which is why I love to write her, because I get to be a little different.
Catra from SPOP, which you all know. She was just really fun in S1, but watching her self-destruct yet still be relatable every step of the way was absolutely heartbreaking, and then watching her get her redemption and find love and still be relatable was one of the most rewarding things I’ve seen on TV in a long time.
And Hélène from Great Comet. I do love her song, but I think she’s also really interesting to analyze, because she puts up an exterior of being this flighty flirt like Anatole, but on the inside she’s so different, and she’s much more of a protector than you would initially think, and even though she’s painted as a villain, you still find her pain heartbreaking. Also, it’s Amber Gray.
