“Get out and don’t come back.” (ouch this hurt just sending it :( )
Peter’s mouth dropped instantly, his brows furrowing. Lily’s stance was strong, her eyes burned into him as there was nothing but silence and tension between the two of them. Peter couldn’t move, he couldn’t bring himself to do as she said. Leaving was not an option, he had nowhere else to go. His stomach lurched at the thought– the thought of abandonment. His dry throat quickly tried to shovel up some kind of excuse, something to get her to change her mind. “Lily– Lils, you don’t understand. Did you hear me right?” He cocked his head at her with a mixture of pain and confusion on his face. “I came back, I’ve told you everything. Isn’t that enough? I-I’m not with them anymore, I mean I swayed for a while there and yeah some bad shit happened but…” he trailed off, uncertain how to define murder as bad shit.
Her silence was all he needed to keep going, to keep shoveling out bullshit. “I’m here now– I’m one-hundred percent here, don’t you see?” Peter’s brain twisted his thoughts, trying to squeeze every last bit of hope and sense out of everything that had happened over the last few years and poured it into his words. “I had to work with them, the Death Eaters, they wouldn’t have let me live if I did. They barely let me live– they won’t fucking let me live. Not after this.” He looked at her stone cold glare and his eyes began to water as he realized there was nothing there. She had nothing left for him. The last one to hold out hope had nothing to give Peter anymore.
Immediately, he dropped to his knees in front of her. Lily didn’t even flinch, hey eyes simply following his movement like he was some kind of crazed animal. “Lily, please! You have to understand! I had no other choice! I didn’t mean for any of this to happen! Please, please don’t leave me!” Peter’s voice cracked and a few tears slid down his face and he began to rock back and forth slowly, still on the floor. “I have nobody else, I gave up everything for you. For this!”
He reached a hand out to hers, trying to garner some sympathy in the physical touch. She snatched her hand away and took a step back, unveiling her wand in a heartbeat. “Get out and don’t come back. I mean it.” Lily’s wand was pointed directly at Peter’s face, her eyes lined up perfectly like the barrel of a gun. Peter couldn’t say anything, his throat was dry but he could still feel the tears sliding down his cheeks. This truly was it, he truly had nobody. If Lily Potter didn’t believe in him, who would?
“I’m sorry,” he choked, and apparated away.
