Alan being internally homophobic because of his dad and Roy being weary of queer people after Gid.
Them both helping each other get over these hurdles.
Roy nicknaming Alan "Al", which is the first nickname that Alan has ever had. Alan bakes Roy cookies as a thank you.
When Alan's father finds out, Alan's kicked out. He stays with Roy. And one night, when Alan's asleep, Roy lets himself really look at his partner. He lets himself think.
"I don't deserve him. He could have anyone in the world, and yet he chose me."
Then Roy fell asleep. Alan on his chest. At peace.
