Hi! I have a question about ARC-V
I know a little bit of what the general plot of it is about and I just wanted to know how much of the runtime is devoted to the fragment/doppelganger boys and girls?
Because its total length seems somewhat intimidating and I wanted to know if I can pick it up specially for the parallel universe kids or if it's mostly background/endgame/whatever stuff
Hiii so happy to hear you're interested in arcv!! The counterparts are introduced fairly early with one appearing in the first 10 episodes iirc, and the fact the protagonist has counterparts is like the main plot point. The thing is that they're not all treated with the same importance with two of them (girls ofc) basically having 15 minutes of screen time combined*, one of the boys appearing only at the start and then kind of losing all agency and another guy appearing a lot only towards the very end (and he gets introduced in like episode 47). Only 4 out of 8 counterparts are given a good amount of screen time (and two of them are the protagonists) (even then, the girl protagonist kind of just. doesn't duel after season 1). It still is a major plot point even though most of the cast isn't really given that much of a screen time (konami kys 🫶). The lore and explanation as to why the protagonist has counterparts remains a mystery until the last ~20 episodes or so, so i don't think it really counts as an endgame, but the concept of counterparts does get introduced early in the anime. The entire 3rd season except like the first episodes is devoted to it, in the 2nd season it's a bit less talked about but it still has its moments.
I know most of the ask answer was kind of negative but i really think you should start it!!! Despite its flaws i really enjoyed the anime <3
GET IN YGO HELL WITH US!!!!
Because people are talking about voice actors let me activate my strange cartoon knowledge
Lacroix's voice actor is also like the flash in batman Brave and the bold (the jay garrick one) and also lightning lad in Superman and the Legion of superheroes
I think about that alot
ooh my god. have you seen the new sandman trailer? barry sloane as "the prodigal"... he looks so fine i literally gasped when i saw him play as one of my favorite characters amongst the show (aside from desire and death). ugh. just... him and his all black leather outfit with black armour....
i saw Peaches' post about it yesterday and haven't been sane since!!! he looks really good!!! and i'm very loosely familiar with the lore so i'll have to brush up before this drops but i'm beyond excited to watch it. and super ready for the fics.
Barry Sloane as Destruction. in leather. has a certain weakness that i plan on exploiting as much as i can. yeah, i'm gonna be very unhinged about this.
