The AV Club's selection of Hannibal as the best show of 2014 has just served as a reminder of how honestly ambivalent I'm feeling about that show at the moment. Yes, I still love it--but I found the final third of season 2 so lackluster, so sloppy, so lacking in the intellectual, emotional, and narrative rigor that I fell in love with in season 1, that I just can't bring myself to be excited about it.
