fuck i just finished watching stranger things and i am SHOOKETH
So I finally binged Stranger Things 3 and uh, can I just
I finally watched yesterday's episodes and I have to say emmerdale is just so frustrating to watch at the moment
I don't think it's necessarily worse than the other shows but when it comes to their stories nothing really stands out or is particularly interesting
Like did Paddy really need a dad in his life? Bear adds nothing to the show, it only makes Paddy act weirder than he normally does. Not to mention, Paddy already has lots of screentime with Chas and their baby storylines (and the vets), I don't think we need scenes of him trying to win the approval of a man, who until a few months ago wasn't even a part of his life. Also, Faith, Bear and Eric love triangle? Yeah, it doesn’t work for me.
And then Kim. You finally have an iconic and complex character at the Home Farm and the first thing you do is make her blackmail Cain into having sex with her. Why???? And then you actually show her softer side, make her involved with other villagers, expand her family and now that’s all ruined too because she just had to kiss Pete. Again, why???? Also, while it could be interesting to see her own son scheme against her, the reason for that just seems a bit stupid. I’m pretty sure Kim would voluntarily sign her share over to Jamie, if he’d just ask her.
And the whole siege was just a bit lame (though that might be mostly because that Max actor isn’t the most believable actor). Did they really need that to break the dynamic between Jessie and Billy and show her he’s not as innocent as she thought he was? At least, I’m assuming that was the point of this. I’m not really invested in Jessie and Marlon but the whole family dynamic is appealing to me, so I wish they would do better with that.
And they made such a big point of Jessie being a headteacher and all the resposibilities she has and yet the one time they could actually explore that and show her being involved in a major sl, she’s nowhere to be seen (yeah, I’m gonna be forever bitter she was not involved in the grooming sl).
And lastly, Vic’s sl. Like I really wish they wouldn’t even give Vic this one but since it’s happening and it’s happening the way it does, couldn’t they just focus on Vic and her feels? Especially now that Robert finally listened to her and backed off. Why bring Lee and his mum? Firstly, it shifts focus on the rapist (which no one needs) and secondly, it’s just repeatitive.
I don’t know, it’s just really frustrating because they have all this potential and they just aren’t using it.
looking forward to another season of strangey things, not looking forward to the duffer brothers once again trying to convince me that eleven is straight
