I actually didn't spawn into existence loving either of those revolutionaries. I was raised on the exact same propaganda as all the rest of you. When I first began to research the Cuban revolution, I also believed Fidel Castro to be a dictator or an abuser of human rights to an extent, though I knew there were many exaggerations

It was actually studying the revolution, the context in which it developed and in which Fidel led the country, as well as seeing primary sources and more critical evidence that led me to my current views

I don't like Fidel or Che because I'm some dumb communist who heard "Marxist revolutionary" and went oh my god they must be great! I like Fidel and Che because I actually fucking study history
