     had he been a lesser man, holmes would have deluded himself into believing that he was, in fact, rather used to the strange collection of strangers that would find themselves at 221B. surely, after many years in the business, nothing should surprised him anymore. 

     nay, as a man of science and logic, no wool collected over his eyes -- but perhaps, that was were the paradox laid. it may also be true that the strange attracts the strange and when everything around you has just the right amount of peculiar, then everything and nothing must be normal. but of course, how can one be sure?

     ❝ leave your shoes at the door. do not wipe them against the mat.                       you will erase the mud if you do, which will be a terrible shame. ❞

     not the typical greeting one would expect from a man leaning outside of his window with a crossbow. baker street remains unconcerned, as it always is.
