Guess who accidentally developed an alter ego and took a week to realize that I’ve been referring to myself in my head for a whole week in a name that is neither mine nor my deadname? Every time I realize consciously I’m doing something that I don’t like, like a bad habit or odd reaction, I say in my head “chill Taylor”, like, wtf, that’s not my name, and it sure as hells isn’t my deadname, so some basic googling later and I guess I have developed an alter ego to curb some of my more annoying habits and reactions. Like, I catch myself getting angry at my cat for being loud, or I stub my toe, and instead of yelling at the cat or rolling on the floor in pain I just think “you can deal with this better Taylor” and I chill instantly because those are the traits I’ve attributed to that subsection of identity. I had no idea you could “oopsy daisy” an alter ego into existence. Also I’m 70% sure “Taylor” is why I’m more chill with bugs now, hated them even existing around me before but now I don’t mind as long as they aren’t in my personal space. Also gonna label her in green cuz that’s her favorite color. Or does that make it my favorite retroactively? But my favorite colors are still black and purple I think. Weird. Taylor seems cool tho, helps me reconcile with my deadname when too many people call me that, keeps “me” separate from the version of myself others want to push onto me. Taylor also corrects my grammar when she catches mistakes sometimes. And Tay named the spider in the neighbors bathroom “Skitt”
