Mysterious duo TEME takes my breath away with their windswept second single, Hell’s Mouth, a magnificent and cinematic alt pop meets indietronica song that takes us on a mind blowing sojourn with its fluid synthesis and silky, vocoder-treated vocals. Slivers of Bon Iver course through the spectacularly moving song, paired with some of the satiny sentimentality of ry x, all doused with the glossy veneer of James Vincent McMorrow. Nevermind that BRUNSWICK is but 19 years old, this Londoner’s talent obviously outshines his years. He’s described by some as a new breed of performer, a writer & producer who makes totally immersive hybrid music, with roots placed in many music sub-cultures. ‘nevermine’, his explosive new single, showcases that eclectic personage with its “Rhythm & Grunge”, an exhilarating and gritty combination of alt rock, electro, and drum & bass. The song is about momentarily falling in love with someone that was never going to be yours to begin with. “It’s about hoping for something that will never come, and watching it all fall apart in front of your eyes.” In otherwords, it’s an anthem of desperation, crafted with riveting finesse. Perhaps “rhythm & grunge” is an extension of what some have coined “post-EDM” lately, but it’s most certainly a unique and striking new sound that we can’t put down. The Chainsmokers have been on top of the world for quite some time, and though they’re a very divisive duo who seem to be in the gossip columns very often these days, there’s no denying that their reign is going to continue, particularly after Alex and Andrew dropped this new song, Sick Boy. For all the people who complain that their electronic dance tracks sound the same, how about some alt electro and rock? That’s right, The Chainsmoker’s new single is more twenty one pilots meets Transviolet than Roses or Closer. It’s an emphatic beast of a bristling, heart pumping anthem. It’s only proper that we’re sharing a song like Nocturnal in the deep inky darkness of a cold wintry night. The mesmeric alt electronic song comes from an Italian trio named Klune, whose ranks include vocalist Giovanni Solimeno, guitarist Giulio Abatangelo, and producer Alberto Pagnin. The group released a bevy of songs two years ago, which we somehow managed to miss out on, and it looks like they’ve just made a resounding return with this fine new song. Soulful vocals and atmospheric production make for a late night seance involving dance ready beats and taut guitar strums. Nocturnal encapsulates those witching hours, when desire blooms to feverish levels and longing rages in the soul. The track is a taste off Klune’s debut album, expected to arrive in 2018.

I’m hoping that behemoth of a hurricane named Irma didn’t do too much damage to Hundred Waters’ friends and family, considering the art rock and experimental electronic three piece hails from Florida. It almost seems strangely fitting that we’re sharing their new song after the storm has lashed the Sunshine State. It’s named Wave To Anchor, and its one of their danciest and most uptempo tastes off soon to arrive new album Communicating that we’ve heard so far. It twirls and whirs deliriously, but in the eye of it all is Nicole Miglis’ ever haunting and ethereal voice, giving the song a fascinating dichotomy both surreal and vivacious, textured and rapturous. New album Communicating arrives on September 14th via OWSLA.
