God, I’m having so many horrifying flashbacks to college right now. I have not wanted to do this much thinking about Butler & friends in a long time.
LOOK GUYS, I QUIT CRITICAL STUDIES, I’M GOING BACK TO ART SCHOOL.

I’m glad that people don’t think I’m overreacting, because this made me SO FUCKING MAD.

Also like, they want me to read the whole of queery theory? Like, the entire field of study? What kind of instruction is that?

agreed, so much. it's society that puts us in boxes - be it gender, orientation, whatever. & I really like how you write them, bc that feels very real to me - when it happens, it happens and you come across a person that you love unlike any other.
Word.

Thank you for this. As someone who identifies as queer, and can be described as bisexual, the black and white box of are you gay or straight has always bothered me. Especially when it is followed up with, the in betweens do not exist.
Yeah, I’m uncomfortable with the term biphobic, but society at large definitely has a very hard time wrapping their head around it. They’re essentialists, unfortunately.

I love everything about this meta, and it's absolutely what I infer from your fics.
When I received this reply it made me really happy. I am SO glad to hear that.
