Artems head snaps up, that was a very familiar feeling, one they haven’t felt since they were living back in crime alley… someone trying to teleport in just bounced off their wards.

They rush to put a jacket on, they grab one of their longer coats and a larger flashlight. Something big enough to swing like a bat of needed but wasn’t actually a weapon.

Prepared for both friend or foe Artem investigates.

Kurt has been very aware of his weaknesses since the mutant known as Alvi died. They were preciously unknown to him, but he still has nightmares about their death- Alvi, unwinged saint, white and ruddied grin tightening as Bastion perforated them with a fist. At times, Kurt himself could feel the punch in his own chest, or would dream that blood bubbled up his throat as the scene unfolded slowly.

How does a man mourn someone he never knew? Should he pace about the lab that kept the stranger's torn lung, muttering questions and gratitudes to the piece of their corpse? Is relief found in rosaries shifting, hail marys muttered, in remembering that prayer is not meant to be performance when Beast or the other X-Men could easily re-enter the room? Kurt wonders of they had a religion themself.

Alvi's widow(er?) comes to collect what remains of them, explains the traditions that they will be sent off in. Kurt exhales in relief when the lung and partner are gone, hoping he can forget now.

He fails to. Wanda takes notice.

“Hmmm I think the long white gown is more romance novel but the purple one is cuter?”

Thank you!!! I felt like I needed to go back to a KHUX icon after the missing link cancellation so I grabbed an old piece I made for the homies a few years ago that I don't think I ever posted here :3 Bit rough in my opinion but I still love it and the concept was one of my favorites!
