Lol I know nothing about that firefighter show except seeing gifs on your blog and I legit thought that one of those two guys died last week, it was so shocking... I don't know where I'm going with this I guess I wanted to confirm that he's alive? and are there like, legit legit prospects for them to be together?

Eddie is alive!!! After he woke up, he immediately asked for Buck and then they facetimed Eddie's son together (yeah I know). Also Eddie then revealed to Buck that last year he had changed his will to make Buck legal guardian of Christopher if anything ever happens to Eddie (yeah I KNOW). Prospects on them being together........hard to say. They both have girlfriends. Buck JUST got with his during that same episode (bc you know...they have to balance out the gayness with some het action). But Eddie has been shown to be having doubts about his gf when he was told to follow HIS heart, not his son's (YEAH I KNOW). Their relationship with each other completely eclipses any gfs they've had. I still think it could happen bc if you watch their scenes together, the way Buck reacts when Eddie is shot, the way Eddie looks at him, the way they're very clearly paralleled with Bobby and Athena (a married couple) in the episode...I just...my god. If this is queerbaiting, it's is like....egregious johnlock level of queerbaiting (will always be bitter about that hihi).

How do you feel about show!Arya? I always felt like they sort of ended up making her almost a secondary character. which annoys me considering she has the most POV chapters (I think?) and is one of the key 5.

They absolutely relegated her to playing second fiddle to her sister, and for that, I’ll always be furious. They stole her themes, her quotes, her story, her everything and handed it to Sansa. Because they liked ‘Sansa’ more. That’s literally it.

What was left? Nothing. Show!Arya was a laughably hollow carcass of who she really is, reduced to an emotionless, edgy, utterly dull character whose fighting ability replaced her personality.

And again, not a S8 issue. It’s been prevalent since S5. Earlier seasons, she was still endearing, still the charismatic and fierce wolf child who cared for others, who cried over Needle and the thought of being left behind.

By cutting out her Stark connection, Nymeria, warging and then handing most of her character (first butchering it, of course) to Sansa, she had no purpose in the story after she came to Westeros.

I’m disappointed in Jon but I’ll never get over what they did to Arya. Not just in S8 but over the entire show, cutting a piece of her off every time until there was nothing of the girl I love left to even hold my interest for five seconds.

Arya is one of the five most important characters of the series, a favourite of GRRM, the only character to have a POV in every book, has the most POV chapters of any female character, an incredibly strong warg, someone who’s influencing an entire storyline while being half a world away, someone Jon dies for, someone the North is rising up in rebellion for, the key to the Boltons consolidation of power, the visual reincarnation of the girl whose story changed the world -

like holy shit, she is so narratively powerful but lmao D&D liked Sophie more and wanted to give her more to do. Arya never had a chance and they reduced her to the very stereotype she breaks because of some actress. That’s definitely something I’m going to resent for a very long time.

On the one hand, I’ll always be bitter at Dark Fate being so screwed over critically and commercially, and I’ll always wish the new trilogy got to be a damn trilogy. On the other hand, because I have to find a bright side, they probably would’ve killed Sarah off, had it continued, and we’d have to watch the end of the icon that is Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor. Which honestly still would’ve been better than T3’s offscreen cancer nonsense, but still.

So, Sarah gets to live forever, and prove that she’ll never stop fighting. At least until there’s another misguided sequel/reboot that goes nowhere, with Arnie fighting Skynet from the nursing home.
