"Zhe house looked abandoned, und I vas up here running calculations," Medic answered. He took the crowbar and began trying to free himself the rest of the way. The roofing creaked under the applied stress.
"I overestimated zhe strength of zhe roof und underestimated zhe veight of my equipment.”
"And because of that you busted—" JS cut himself off.
"What equipment? What exactly did you put on my roof? And what calculations were you running? Who even ARE you?!"
JS was beginning to grow concerned that as to who this strange German man was that fell through his roof. Granted, it wasn’t the first German he had in his house, but this was a bit more extreme than Kurt’s visits.
"Zhis spot vas perfect for zhe test I vas running," Medic replied, grunting as he forced a particularly stubborn bit of roofing to snap. Shards of wood went flying into the air.
"Und everysing is on a need-to-know basis, Herr. Und you do not need to know precisely vhy I vas on your roof. You never saw me."
"Or I could do what any normal person would do in this situation and call the police about a strange man with an even stranger doohickey on my roof." JS smirked, not one for secrets.
"Now, I think I speak for both of us when I say I’d like to avoid that bit of unpleasantness. After all, trespassing, destruction of property…and possibly breaking and entering, not exactly smiled upon in most cases." JS continued to smart off to the man.
"So, I ask again. Who the hell are you and why were you on my roof?"
JS was fully prepared to take matters into his own hands if necessary, but he’d prefer not to resort to that if at all possible.
"Don't do zhat."
Zhe last sing I need is to be hauled off to jail, Medic thought.
The roof finally gave way and Medic slipped out of the hole. He descended the ladder and brushed the mess of splinters from his coat. He kept hold of the crowbar.
"If it's money you want to fix your roof," Medic began, "I can compensate you for zhe damages."
