Not perfct!
This is the copy I bound of A Big Black Sky by @alexmeg. This fic is one of my favourites, I always come back to it. Having it on my shelf makes me so happy.
Alex Meg has a transformative policy in their profile, indicating that it's OK to bind their fics for personal use. I love it when authors make that statement!
As you can see, my binding is not perfct at all. Everything was going well until the HTV decided to go on strike. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
What I like: I've been experimenting for a while with placing a monogram with the ship of each fic. Previously, I had placed it on the spine, but I didn't like it. This time I put it on the back cover and I really liked it.
What I learned:
I am happy because the spine is well aligned, and the endpapers are well positioned. Finally!
What could be improved?
Apart from the problem with the title? I guillotined the text block and forgot to adjust the size of the cover, so the distance between the text block edges and the edge of the cover is too wide.
Supplies:
I made the binding fabric by papering 100% cotton. I bought this design with this fic in mind.
I used 80 grams bone colour bond paper. 2 mm gray cardboard for the cover, 1.5 mm for the spine.
