OH MY GOD IM HYPERVENTILATING
With over 20 years in fandom, I dedicate myself to binding the stories I like: with more passion than talent 😂. I also reblog the work of others as a way of celebrating fandom and these beautiful works of fan art that are bound fan fiction. For other ficbinders' work, I always use the same hashtag so that they can be found easily: "Fantastic ficbinders and where to find them"
Keep fandom free!
PS: Most of my posts are queued.
I know we’re all waiting for @tsoanatural to come back from the war and grace us with more 9-1-1 fic books, but until then, here’s one I put together if any of you are interested!
It’s “Stuck on Fast Forward (Throw Away the Blueprint)” by the incredible @extasiswings.
Summary: “Sounds like the problem is you think casual sex with a stranger or finding someone new to date are your only options.”
Eddie’s brow furrows. “Aren’t they?”
“I mean, there’s always…someone you already know. Who you’re already comfortable with.”
“Because my pool of male friends who are single and who would be interested in having sex with me has so many options?”
“Well, I don’t know about many, but you only need one,” Buck points out.
“And who would that be?”
“Me, of course.”
[Or: Frank gives Eddie therapy homework, Eddie misunderstands the assignment, and Buck is just a really supportive friend...right?]
Yes, I expanded the podfic cover for this. Let me live. 😂
It’s 5.5 x 8.5 in. and 181 pages.
Obviously, no revenue is being made from this. Proof below the cut!
Send me a DM if you’re interested in the link to purchase! 😘
Happy Thursday!
The friendly @galadrielspeaks asked if I can show how to order the Sansûkh books from Lulu Xpress, so here's a walkthrough video!
The "Foil Stamp Text" is the text that is embossed into the spine of the linen cover, under the paper wrap. The linen colour choices here are selected to match the wrap cover. (Part One is Navy Blue, Part Two is Red, Part Three is Forest - side note when @runawaymarbles and I were discussing cover colours, we picked the first for Thorin/Durin's folk/the Halls of Mandos, the second for Gimli/Dáin/Mahal, and the third for Legolas/the Shire-folk/Yavanna and her realm - this symbolism is also reflected on the cover art.)
I've had these book now since the spring, and I can't tell you how lovely it is to have them on the shelf and on hand. Hope you enjoy them, all!
I don’t usually post my Sheith on this account but I published a fic anthology with over 500 words of Sheith and you can buy it for another week if that is something you guys might like. I’m just really proud of this thing.
You can buy it HERE until November 20th
So after so many months of hard work, The Vapor Variant is done. And I really, REALLY wanted something tangible that I could hold in my hands, so I started looking into book printing.
I used Lulu.com and got my book printed for $7 (with shipping!) I just got it for myself, just so I could have it, but wow, what a feeling!
I had originally printed a Cabin Pressure fic I’d written just to get practice printing with Lulu (laying it out in Word, designing a cover, etc.).
Thank you to @cecilia-gf for the beautiful cover art for TVV. Tidings cover art by me.
Just in case anyone is interested:
Tidings of Comfort and Joy was 19k and came in at 75 pages. The Vapor Variant was close to 73k and came in at 260 pages.
10/10 would recommend, if you have any questions, please feel free to message me, I’m super happy to help others get their stories printed. It is so cool to hold all that hard work in your hands!
With that being said... any authors out there who might be interested in like... a secret-Santa-style book swap? @elldotsee and I were throwing around ideas yesterday but it’s still sort of in its infancy, depending on how many people bite. In theory you’d print your own book and send it along to a person or people and get their fic-books in return. Kind of a neat way to fill our shelves with quality writing we can’t get at the bookshop ;)
Tagging a few of you who might care:
The young adventurer's club by Artemisgrl
Summary:
"Bored by unchallenging classes? Sick of sitting around, doing nothing grand? Eager to learn forgotten magics and gain power beyond your wildest dreams? Join the Young Adventurer's Club now!" A mysterious poster for a new club catches Severus' eye. Little does he know... What the club has planned will challenge everything he knows and change the course of his entire life.
The cover is made of ecru canvas (homemade book cloth), printed on a gel plate with black acrylic. The title and image are made with stencils.
I wanted to evoke the idea of an old, rustic, well-used and worn -out document.
As always, it was bound for my personal use. You can read it for free at the link.
