WIP Wednesday

This is literally my first WIP Wednesday so I have to figure out more mutuals to tag going forward!

So the Breton I’ve been drawing is actually the daughter of my most precious Skyrim OC (the Altmer, Alyanmir) whom I don’t draw much since I feel bad being so mean to him lol. Both of her parents are pictured here.

I have been working on this piece for a very long time mostly because I cannot decide how I want to draw Alyanmir’s dirty prisoner-of-war hair lol.

Read below if you want the short gist of the OC story I’ve been drawing snippets from.

The short version is he betrayed the Aldmeri Dominion during the Great War after falling in love changed his world view. He eventually became a high ranking imperial officer. His wife died during the birth of his only child. Her father blamed him for her death and has prevented him from seeing his daughter, and he very reluctantly agreed because it was probably safer for the Aldmeri Dominion to not know about her. They write to each other very frequently.

The woman he fell in love with came from a long line of very talented illusionists who aren’t too cowardly for warfare (rare for those who are inclined towards illusion magic). He originally specialized in restoration magic but is now a very talented swordsman as well.

The daughter eventually manages to get an assignment outside of her grandfathers purview doing research in Skyrim. She has a few mostly harmless run ins with the Thalmor and is gradually confronting she may have some father issues with Altmer she didn’t realize.

Eventually the Thalmor are going to figure out who her father is and try to use her as leverage against him. There are some political ramifications to holding a young, well-connected Breton woman in prison, so it starts with keeping a close eye on her and progresses to having an agent “befriend” her as she is moving too chaotically through Skyrim to reliably spy on the normal way.

She doesn’t really know how strategically and politically important her father is so she’s just assuming the Thalmor have some weird stake in her research. Like all of us, she can be pretty stupid and oblivious at times lol.

I might start writing it for ao3 but I haven’t written fan fiction in like 5 years so I’m pretty rusty.
