Ugh it's going to be so hard to get back flexibility! I think daily yoga is going to have to be the way forward from now! And to think I used to be able to do the splits all three ways haha

why are people acting like you're just sitting around stalking arya/gendry blogs or something wtf

Like, okay, honesty hour: Unless it's on my dash, in one of my tracked tags, or linked to me, I don't see it. And even then, I have a blacklist over 200 terms long, so there's a damn good chance I won't see it anyways. The #gotfic tag is generally very blue for me, you know?

I don't ship Arya/Gendry and have it blacklisted. I mean, I don't bear it any ill will or anything, I'm just like "eh" and don't want to see it. Which means - that's right, you guessed it! - I had no idea about Arya/Gendry Week. Like, if I had, why in the world would I put SansaWillasWeek on at the same time? 

There seems to be a belief that the two are somehow in competition which... No? No. A) they're two completely independent pairings with no shared characters, meaning they can inhabit the same world without there needing to be a battle (dude, I've written fic where they're ongoing at the same time), B) what would the point even be, considering Arya/Gendry is either the most or second-most popular ship in the fandom, going on AO3? and C) I am not that stupid. 

Seriously, I'm not. Had I known Arya/Gendry Week was going on at the same time, I probably would have pushed SansaWillasWeek back a week or so, just in case some people wanted to do both and would feel pressured, because contrary to an apparently popular belief, I am not a shithead. 

But hey, every time I do anything that could be considered a contribution to fandom, I get called an asshole, so whatever. I'm two rude anons away from just bowing out altogether, tbh.

this is a dumb question--but canonically, is willas completely confined to a wheelchair or does he use a cane? or do we even know the extent of his injuries? i seem to recall the use of a cane but i'm p sure that's from your stories, lol. (....i might be trying to write a thing for sansaxwillas week what)

Canonically, we have no idea of the extent of his injuries - the Lannisters are all as complimentary as could be expected, from Cersei's crippled dog boy, to Tywin's petulant precious one-legged heir (lol Tywin this is how you treat a disabled son you disgusting POS learn from Mace), and Margaery and Mace both describe it quite vaguely  - a bad leg but a good heart from Margaery, and from Mace:

"My son Willas is an able lad, [...] His leg may be twisted but he has no want of wits."

Oberyn Martell offers us the details of the tourney, and I honestly don't see any reason for him to either fudge the details or overplay the extent of Willas' injury, so, from Oberyn:

He has never borne me any ill will for what happened in the lists. I struck his breastplate clean, but his foot caught in a stirrup as he fell and his horse came down on top of him. I sent a maester to him afterward, but it was all he could do to save the boy's leg. The knee was far past mending.

Oberyn then goes on to talk smack about Mace, of course, but I think this is our best bet for an accurate appraisal of Willas' condition. With a knee far past mending, well, I think crutches or a wheelchair are the likely order of the day, but (as I wrote in Rough Winds) there is a certain vanity about the Tyrells that might push Willas himself to downplay the extent of his injuries and the pain caused thereby. 

So... We don't really know! It's severe, going on Oberyn's story, but beyond that we can't really be sure!

I want a fic where Mary tells Anna she can do much better than Bates tbh.

She does that pretty much every single interaction they have in University Challenge tbh but that's not a canon fic. I don't see how it would work in canon. Like, it's not as if they can just get a divorce. And they work together so there'd be no end of trouble if for whatever reason they did split up. Mary can't go around telling Anna she could do better than her husband. And Mary seems to support their relationship so much. IDGI. Is her loyalty so much to Anna that she will accept Anna's extremely dubious romantic choices? Does she actually think Bates is the greatest person ever because Julian Fellowes does? Is she aware that Anna's romantic options are severely curtailed by her class and the time period so in many ways she can't do better? Bates is so frustrating though. When Mary burned the train ticket, she clearly had qualms about doing so (good old Mary!) but she did it anyway. To protect Bates? To protect Anna? What does she actually think? I hope it's dealt with in S05 but, eh, who knows!
