(prefacing this with "no c3 hate whatsoever will be tolerated on this post")
ive decided my main c3 critique isnt even about c3, it's about call of the netherdeep. but it isnt netherdeeps flaw either. it's a cyclical thing i don't have an answer to. making netherdeep a module for players set before c3's story was an amazing way to engage fans; even non fans thought it was really well written. but the vagueness of canon written by players means the most important ideas in netherdeep could not be shown in c3. not everyone has some of The Most Vital Context: more marquet immersion, a faction that is a pre-ruby vanguard introduction, and a story about ruidisborn, redemption, & rebirth centered on alyxian, who is so insanely and closely tied to imogen/liliana/otohan it's mind blowing. the only markedly huge change i would ever make to c3 is having alyxian loudly haunt the narrative. non netherdeep players/readers cant figure out that otohan made herself in his image. that he is a blueprint of what happens when ruidisborn and god interests combine (it ends..... very roughly). and that he is, in what is considered a good playthrough, the only beacon of hope for ruidisborn imogen would have.
