Quick review so far on the new Steven universe episodes.

While the first series was about Steven maturing and growing up as Person and learning valuable lessons I feel the new series focuses more on the emotions of him dealing with the complicated emotions that follow that maturity. It also focuses on how the gems, his moms, feel.

Steven isn’t a child anymore, much like how most of the fan base is growing up and becomeing teenagers.

I applaud rebbeca and their crew for how they showed this and related this to their fan base growing up. They do such an amazing job showing the audience how the complicated emotions project and how they effect those around you.

I love they show both sides of this difficult time and that they take the time to process the importance of the complicated emotions and how to deal with them.

This isn’t the same show we knew in the series before, and I think that’s intentional. Steven isn’t the same, we aren’t the same. In some ways i think it’s a good change. Do I miss wholesome little Steven? Yes but it’s important we also see he’s grown up.
