North Carolina Amazon union president fired
While workers at Amazon went on strike around the country, Amazon corporate struck back--firing the President of a union that was on the verge of filing for an election.

Amazon fired Ryan Brown, president of the NC union Carolina Amazonians for Solidarity & Empowerment (CAUSE).
Ryan is a powerhouse organizer who is close to making the RDU1 facility near the Raleigh-Durham area the first unionized Amazon warehouse in the south.

Brown co-founded Carolina Amazonians for Solidarity and Empowerment (CAUSE) almost three years ago. He has bravely led CAUSE's campaign for union recognition and better conditions for the giant facility's miserably treated workers.
Amazon made up a basis for firing Brown because they’re afraid of what CAUSE has built. But they can’t fire this movement.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is the second richest hoarder of ill-gotten gains on Earth, and Amazon is one of the wealthiest companies. It's been two years since workers at an Amazon warehouse organized a union called the Amazon Labor Union. Since then, a company willing to pay for plenty of lawyers has refused its legal obligation to bargain with its workers.
Amazon has been fined by the National Labor Relations Board, but still refuses to bargain, choosing instead to sue to have the NLRB declared unconstitutional.
Workers have had enough! During Amazon’s busiest time of year, the union is preparing to participate in a nationally coordinated workplace action at many warehouses. But the union needs funds to support striking and picketing. Workers need to pay for food, transportation, materials, language interpreters, medical support, cold weather supplies, worker retaliation defense funds, and legal support.
I'm so done with Amazon, I can't fathom. I hope every last Amazon worker going on strike gets a big fat raise and gets to shove their fists in Bezos' asshole. Lost a $130 order (that was "lost in transit") and now I can't log in because they blocked my login attempt bc it wasn't sending an OTP code since there was something "wrong with my email". I called them personally and just told them to cancel my whole fucking account.
Marking it up as a lesson learned. I'm using cash and buying local for now on.
